Is there a serious way we can fix the political issues within the United States (i.e. the political tribalism and refusal to compromise/cooperate with those who hold a different opinion at all) without resorting to violence or complete censorship of one side or the other? This shit has been going on for way too long and we aren't getting anything done for the benefit of the populus anymore. Any proposed solutions?

The two party system only works when both parties are working towards building a better country even if they have different ideas of how to achieve their version of a better country.
In any political system the majority of people will parrot the beliefs their chosen leaders express. When one part of the two party system is attempting to destroy the country you have a substantial number of people parroting a destructive narrative because they have faith that their leaders are still working towards a better country.
The only way to resolve this situation is for a leader of the corrupted part of the two party system to publicly and loudly exclaim that the leaders on that side are no longer working towards a better country and are instead seeking to destroy the country.
Until then the majority of people will assume that it's business as usual, that they aren't under attack and that modern day political issues are just the same old petty divisions between the two parts of the two party system. Tribalism isn't inherently bad, it has worked pretty well for centuries and even millennia across other countries, the problem is that the few leaders in the corrupted part that haven't been corrupted are unwilling, unable to or are ignorant of the current assault on their country. This could be because they don't know about it, because they're being blackmailed or because they don't want to hand the country to the other side and would rather see it destroyed before a slightly different flavour of values to their own are accepted by the masses for a short period, possibly a few decades, maybe even a century.
In short, don't blame the idiots. They're doing their job. They're being fed faulty intelligence which makes it seem like they're the ones undermining the system when in reality they're doing what they're supposed to do.
Yes but it will never be accepted. The founding fathers were very smart but when they denounced political parties they could never have envisioned Duverger's law. So long as there is first past the post their will ONLY be two parties, and these parties policies will move together while their base becomes more polarized. This is something that WILL happen in our system because of it's nature. There is a formula to determine the ideal number of political parties in our society and there should be at least 3.
In addition Congress is completely swamped because members of the HoR were never intended to represent so many people and have so much workload. They simply cannot honestly represent their constituents and National interest at the same time.
The solution, knowing what we know and the founding fathers could not have, is to keep the Senate as it is now, but for the people's house, the house of Representatives, the elections should be national -pan America across all 50 states -- and should be switched to a party based prortional representation system. This would eliminate gerrymandering, end the issue of number of Representatives to constituents, the need for census and redistributing, allow the house to more accurately represents the people's beliefs and desires, and end themy team your team bickering as large parties must cooperate with smaller ones to pass legislature thru the lower house

I won't tell you which side I'm talking about, but I will say that I believe that every country has a right to defend itself against external attacks from nation states or globally based groups whether those attacks are overt and aggressive or covert and subversive in nature.

It always boils down to representatives in those districts to do these things anyways. This cuts away all the bullshit gerrymandering. For equal control, you have the Senate. And the Senate can now be influenced by the power swing given by the proportional representation down below. More candidates at the representative level means more donations and a stronger presence for some candidates in the Senate to beat FPTP.
