First of its beyond ridiculous that some woman appears 10,20,30 or even 40 years later and just ruin your career and jeopardize your life with a simple allegation and no proofs.
Second is fucking stupid that this same people aren't published for slandering and derailing your life.

Since when is making false criminal accusations in order to ruin someone's life through the legal system and preceding media witch hunt, an opinion covered by free speech?
If a fake rape accusation can be proved in court - the accuser should receive the same sentence a man would have received were he to be convicted of the rape.
If they're in a state with a sex offender registry, a "Crying wolf" registry needs to be implemented and the woman must be forced to register.
This will be searchable to prospective dates and employers so they know they're getting a known, vile liar.
It will start mattering when people begin getting jail time for making shit up and ruining lives to further their dumbass political agenda.

This is what happened:
There has been laws against false police reports, but if a report was already false it would require more work usually to try to successfully prosecute it, and many decided that it was throwing good money after bad.
When it came to freeing wrongfully convicted people, a general policy was put in place that in order to get the innocent people out they would need to not go after the people who made the false reports that led to convictions.
Once that unofficial policy was in place and entrenched, it wasn't hard for the raging leftists and feminists to declare that women would be afraid to come forward if they were afraid of getting arrested because no one believed them.
It's a BS excuse but no politician wants to touch it so there won't be any changes to laws or the way current laws are applied.
Automatic felony, manditory minimum 5 years and put on the sex offender registry

simple, introduce a penalty for hoaxers. whether it is rape hoax, race hoax, religious hoax, or other kind of hoax. hoaxes that could result in criminal penalties against the hoaxee should result in criminal penalties on the hoaxer.
not just the penalty of "lying to authorities" but a penalty on par with the crime that the hoaxer alleged to take place.

The left IS trying to change the laws. They're not even being subtle about it. Watch things relating to Cosby, or any of this other crap. They're tossing around the idea of doing away with the statute of limitations on sex crimes. So they will not only be able to ruin your life 50 years later, but they may even be able to throw you in prison, or get you on a rapist list. This is what they want the end result to be.

There needs to be a strict period of like a year to report a crime after which everyone - police, courts, congress - just ignore it. Not admissible anywhere. Claiming such a thing and publishing it qualifies as slander.
