75k, with no real education, in a shit economy, where degrees pay on average half to 2/3rds. Bonus round: The economy is going to get way way worse up here and after I get one contract I'll be eligible for more after the 5 year term.
Any basic skills I have, I double.
door knocked for a few charities? Outside sales experience.
Warehouse shipping or picking? Logistics coordination.
Delivery driver? Route management experience.
Know how to tell people what to do? Team management.
Know how to do basic programming in Excel? Advanced computer skills.
Engineering is a different field because like you said, you can't bullshit a technical degree or experience. The people that want to know your technical skills almost 100% of the time aren't the ones who first read your interview. It's stupid cunts in HR departments that have ZERO grasp on the role of the job and get enticed by big words and fancy experience before handing it off.
I'm at a point in my labour pool where I interview at minimum 3 times before an employer is yes or no. That means I have to bullshit successfully at least 3 times before an offer letter is there, and I did it, the jobs I didn't get almost every time it came down to not having credentialed experience which would prevent/make difficulties for me from getting US visas in the companies in question.
You have your education, don't fuck with that, nor bullshit about qualifications you're certain you can't do. Everything else play with it. pump up your volunteer experience. If you have the money, register your own company and pay the maintenance for a couple years and say you had a startup, few employers will look into it.
HR departments are your enemy. Fuck them at every corner.
