I've never read Siege or The Turner Diaries but I've read everything by Ted. From the synopsis of the former two, they shouldn't be conflated with Kaczynski's work. Kaczynski is a genius, and the basic premise of the books by Mason and "MacDonald" appears to suggest anything but.

The Turner Diaries has been about for years. It was long-regarded as fantasy wank fodder for redneck spackers who had never read books before. Only recently has it been co-opted (by other spackers) as some sort of seminal text. What you say is correct.

It depends what you're looking for. Protip if it's anything non-fiction though and you want to learn from scratch: pick a good uni and see what their prescribed reading list is for whatever subject it is at undergrad level. Contact the course convener if you can't find out and explain the situation to them if you want, say you're studying in your own time - they'll help you out. That's what i did a few years back when I wanted to learn about economics, ended up buying and reading a few textbooks off the back of it which was a damn sight more edifying than spending your time on "muh race war" bollocks.

He's not out of touch with reality at all. He never said that it wouldn't, but nor did he say that it definitely would. The variables are too great and too many to try to predict what exactly would happen if industrial civilisation collapsed. If you read the articles in Technological Slavery and his objective, non-politically correct analysis of primitive cultures still extant over the last 100 years or earlier, he details examples of racism and tribal orientation among them and didn't view it as negative in any way.

Industrial Society And Its Future is a highly condensed and very brief summary. The brevity was necessary because he intended to get it published in the newspapers, which he did do. He couldn't include a thorough explanation of every point.
