Immigration is inevitable. The problem is that when we became these big nations we separated from one another. We see people behind an imaginary line as enemies. Most of the time. If we globally took care of each other better we wouldn't have impoverished countries right behind the border. This is a naive statement on purpose. Trying to be hyperbolic to prove a point.

Immigration will always happen. I think it is good for all countries to allow it to continue. Don't overregulated, but make sure people who cross the border and want to become part of your amazing nation are doing it properly. If they are escaping disasters, there needs to be check ups. Health checks. Mental check up etc. that kind of thing and then orientation for work.

It might become too expensive to do that, but the alternative is to wall up dirt and fantasize that it works. No wall will really work for America. The border is just too big and the amount of money constant surveillance requires you might as well be burning all that money, or invest it in what I stated earlier.
