You absolutely can use another heat source as cover. it may look complicated but it doesn't use Signals such as IFF tags, and ID systems in general like western planes with safety features. its pure fire and hope your not in the way.

Yes the S-200 is a old SAM system that lacks modern FoF detection and several other modern systems to defeat airplanes missile defense systems.

The S-300 on the other hand, while not beeing the newest S400 russian system, is on par with patriot or other ageing but still modern systems like Patriot.

That's why the Israelis were so mad about Russia selling Syria S-300. And got it stopped the last time around.
