Plus they have ridiculous amounts of benefits and get paid for a full year when they don't work for three months of it. They constantly beg for more gibs. Despite the USA spending more per student than any other country on education, we have the dumbest kids and the worst schools. Test scores have been stagnant since the 70s when per student funding has increased fourfold.

Anecdotal, but a buddy of mine is a teaching in Massachusetts. He makes just under $100k. He doesn't work summers. Life seems pretty awesome, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
