Vermont, perhaps because it is prosperous (but not spoiled) is very well governed and always has been. They don't really even have or use political parties much there. They have a Republican governor.

I'm not trolling. He is a good senator and he serves his state well. He is highly respected just not by Jow Forums. I was a lobbyist for a while for small farm interests in NH and VT and Senator Leahy took the time to meet with us and hear our concerns even though most of the stuff we were pushing were not things democrats supported. He took the time to listen and was an all together great guy. Obviously he is from a rural state but he could have just as easily brushed us off.
