I'm not a medical professional, so piss on my understanding, but I believe that sugar intake is the number one reason for obesity and poor health in my country. When the overweight and obese abstain from sugar completely (and go on a high-fat ketosis diet) they are almost sure to show tremendous strides in weight loss. The over consumption of sugar also leads many into diabetes and heart issues.

I don't know if it's because I've been eating alot of sweets as a kid which ended up fucking my metabolism but whenever I eat sugar my depression goes away, i feel energetic and euphoric but my mind gets foggy and if stop consuming sugar for a long time I feel lethargic and empty and my thinking goes back to normal. To make it worse whenever I "crack" and start consuming pure sugar or something that contains sugar or replacements I start suffering pre-diabetus like symptoms if I do it a long time but that's probably because I have diabetics in my family so it should be ok for normal people.

You need simple sugars only when you are very physically active. Are you fit? Maybe your doctor saw your muscle mass and roughly calculated how much sugar you need to keep feeling good

Processed sugar is bad because your body will burn through it all and have a very large energy excess which will be turned into fat. So unless you are doing a lot of physical work, pure sugar will end up just becoming fat stores and not put to good use.

The caveat here is processed versus not, or rather simple sugars versus complex sugars. Complex carbohydrates don't break down as fast in your stomach, so your body gets a steady flow of energy instead of a large dose. Essentially your food will last longer in your body and give off roughly the same nutrients, but over time instead of all at once.

Which is a lot more healthy since the body will always turn excess energy into fat stores.

There isn't anything magical about keto (besides the marketing behind it: perfect excuse to open ((keto restaurants))). Carbohydrates are the largest energy store per gram of food, so of course if you cut them out of your diet you will lose fat. Less excess energy means less fat generation.

Cane sugar isn't as bad as processed, but the issue is the amount you typically use. It's in a higher concentration than the fruit pulp you would use otherwise.

Simple (processed or refined) carbohydrates are not good because of how fast the body will burn through them. Complex sugars, such those found in fruits and such, take longer for the body to process and as such are healthier.
