But why? Brutalism is great

No it's not.

>Brutalism is great

Get a load of this commie.

Buildings have to be made of organic materials and based on nature and golden ratio

Attached: Parthenon-Phi-Golden-Ratio-4.jpg (591x389, 93K)

Good. Brutalist commie shit should be demolished and replaced with architecture for freedom lovers and those with vision.

Finally, something I can agree with Trump 100% on

>marble
>organic

Brutalism is only good because usually some humanity and nature seep through. Pure brutalism is both ugly and boring.

> Whether anyone likes him or not, Trump builds legitimately stylish buildings for a living.
> Trump doesn't like boring looking concrete slabs.
Not surprised at all desu.

>Canadians can't even farm marble
What good are you "people"?

farming (You)s

Art Deco should come back

Brutalism is shit. Expose yourself to actual good architecture sometime

Attached: bethune3.jpg (800x530, 88K)

it looks like a parking garage

You fucken idot, marble is "organic" in this sense because you can just find it in the Earth without having to synthesize it

based and redpilled.

Attached: untitled.jpg (768x1024, 383K)

Jewish architecture is just ugly.

Attached: frontenac.jpg (900x600, 124K)

>in this sense
That's literally not what "organic" means, in any context, ever. The closest you could come up with is "natural" but that has an awful lot of gray zones.

Truth, this is an ideal brutalist interior but the exteriors are also frequently decorated with vines or planters.

they could always rebuild it.

Trump continues to be based as fuck

One such exterior

Marble is organic.

THIS

As much as America is white or Sweden Swedish.

Great or not, we've all seen Trump's style (mix of Victorian-era, art-deco and post-modern WTF all covered in gold). Brutalism is the exact opposite of everything he likes.

Organic implies that it comes from an organism. The word you're looking for is natural.

Frontenac was built by jewish railroad owners.

Watch Roger Scruton´s Why Beauty Matters documentary.

Anything after Art Deco is fucking trash

Architecture and outlook are linked.

This building is not conducive to a healthy emotional state.

Bruce Price designed this and he wasn’t a jew. It looks fine, it’s not brutalist or commie or jewish

It's boring, devoid of artistry and just plain ugly.

Brutalism is not great, that shit is so fucking ugly lol. Our government buildings don't need to be some post-modernist art project.

Agree that brutalist architechture is fucking shit, there's a building in my state here that looks like asshole and it's clearly made in the 70's

When properly used it serves a purpose.
Example: Prisons, storm shelters & bunkers....

What is he on about, the J. Edgar Hoover building is a fine work of architecture. Of all the shitty American architecture that is this is what he is complaining about?

Ive walked past this building a million times. It’s a terrible building. It could definitely use an update.

brutalism is the architectural jew

No one likes brutalism that's the whole fucking point.

Do you even speak English mate?

Uuh no.

DC government buildings/monuments have traditionally been either one-offs like the washington monument or neo-classical architecture like the capitol or white house. I'd like it if they could keep with neoclassical, but baroque or gothic are also good choices, gothic or neogothic could complement the dc cathedral
also brutalism is shit and if every brutalist architect were rounded up and publicly executed tomorrow it wouldn't be soon enough

Search for pics of unass dartmouth. What a shot show this place is.

The FBI Bar and Casino

It's not impossible to do well. It does admittedly look like trash in 90% of cases though.

>Brutalism is great
For kikes. Choke on a latke, chaim.

It's literally commie architecture. Fuck off

>modern
>gaudy
>internationalist
>soulless
Trump is not a friend of traditional architecture.

I wouldn't want these in D.C. though. They wouldn't fit in.

this man is the greatest fucking president jesus christ he's just farming this board for opinions

I don't mind brutalism for federal buildings. Kinda ugly and utilitarian as gov buildings should be.

As if that's pertinent to anything outside this board.

I went to school here.
God I fucking hate that campus.
The only decent building on campus is old main.
Also, are you trying to imply that this shit you're posting looks good?

It's a novelty the first five times you see it.
Then it's an eyesore.

>Kinda ugly and utilitarian
I agree. Captures the American spirit.

it literally looks like the metro

maybe i'm retarded, but i get comfy feelings from brutalism. i think they remind me of college and the brief period in time when i was happy and had friends.

Wait, that's a different building, it just looks almost exactly like my former university.
Funny.

Did you go to Binghamton?

Not so much retarded as subhuman and soulless.

The state shouldn't be an object of scorn. It should endow the public with a sense of their history and culture.
Turning the symbols of authority into oppressive gray slabs of concrete is destructive in a way that I don't think most people are aware of.

You're telling me Brutalism only looks good when it looks like the setting of a post-apocalyptic movie.
There is no greater grounds to dismiss an art critic than when they defend or exhume Brutalism. Objectively. Ugly.

No, I'm in northwest Washington.
It all looks the fucking same.

>Marble is organic.
But is it non-GMO and vegan?

>hiromoot makes an /arc/hitecture board
>posting brutalism is a bannable offence
What else could happen? It's (You) b8

Yeah, it does not even look like a building, it looks like a giant perfume bottle.

Attached: 375x500.36.jpg (375x500, 20K)

Revival style architecture tend to be really tacky.

Nice

Attached: 04+Solis-Mads+Mogensen.jpg (750x560, 412K)

I like it. It looks like how I'd imagine some dystopian ministry of truth would look, and is thus perfect for FBI headquarters, a reminder that they already bear the aperture for tyranny.

I think it's fitting for such an institution.

>Brutalism is great

Attached: 1533948142357.jpg (903x960, 52K)

>it's highly unusual for the [P]resident of the United States to micromanage a building project
HE'S A REAL ESTATE MOGUL YOU CUNT

lol

No one saying scorn. Its fucking tax dollars at work. Big concrete box to stuff the apparatchik is fine to me. Go build the fancy shit elsewhere. Standard .gov buildings should be utilitarian boxes, preferably no windows or ventilation.

I like brutalism, what I can't stand is retarded artsy bullshit like way too many new buildings today.

Attached: 546326541.png (850x1249, 1.97M)

true
In a similar vein, here's the IRS tax court.

Attached: Tax_Court_by_Matthew_Bisanz.jpg (2560x1920, 1.06M)

I don't want my tax dollars to build a big ugly shitbox in the middle of my fucking city.

Brutalist buildings have proven to be extremely expensive user, the maintenance costs is unbelievable and is why many of the old buildings are destroyed.
But not soon enough.

Brutalism is Jewish architecture absolutely disgusting and only good for commie blocks

Consider the possibility that the negative perception of these institutions and consequently the part of the cause for the corruption of their character is because they're presented to the public by symbols that are offensively ugly.

>You're telling me Brutalism only looks good when it looks like the setting of a post-apocalyptic movie.
Sort of, or as if someone set up a highly advanced operation in an ancient ruin. Ironically, when done properly it shares the element of feigned age with Neoclassical Architecture.

are you a troll or just a brainlet?

Not now, now he is the President which more than a full time job.

Do you know what limestone is made out of, you absolute fucking mong?

Lucky, they are not your tax dollars

>called brutalism
>just a generic concrete box

What the fuck is supposed to be brutal about this? With a name like that, I expect architecture that looks like it belongs on the cover of some death metal album.

This is 100x better than that building you posted. i asume you posted it to show it is shit right?
