The FBI was given one week to investigate whoever was deemed relevant and credible. They probably won't need that much time since they already have sworn statements from most of the parties. The FBI is Executive and the Senate is Legislative, they're allowed to work at the same time. From the moment the Judiciary Committee passed Kavanaugh onto the Senate floor, the 30 hour minimum period before voting started. The FBI investigation can run for two days, be deemed concluded, and the Senate could then vote on Monday.
They can begin debating on the Senate floor tomorrow in preparation for whenever the vote is.

Trump gave them one week. Which is more than he should have because right now the FBI is working way outside of its legal jurisdiction. I'd almost be scared some Democrats will accuse Trump of using the FBI as a partisan tool (when the Democrats were the ones to demand it) but I don't think any of them are smart enough to try that.

It's not a criminal investigation. No grand juries, no subpoenas, no forced statements.
The Senate is not required to wait for this. They can hold the vote before the FBI finishes the week.

They could hold the vote whenever the wanted, but that may note work well if they still gave a few Senators on the fence waiting for the investigation to conclude.
The investigation was ordered to be limited in scope and really most of it was already done by the Judiciary Committee. They already had sworn statements, they wanted to talk with Mark Judge and they already are, Ford's team tried to duck out by saying you can't impose a time limit but they're not setting the terms. All that needs to be done is some double checking stuff and getting signatures to show an effort was made. Then that should be enough to win older the swing votes.
Though I wish Trump would order a separate investigation into the Judiciary Committee and particular Feinstein on how a letter only she got was leaked. And if any of the Democrats knew about these allegations as well and withheld them from the rest of the committee.
