Souls begin their journey in a primordial state...

>Souls begin their journey in a primordial state, and exist in a state of consciousness continuum that is constantly evolving through Saṃsāra.[211] Some evolve to a higher state; some regress asserts the Jaina theory, a movement that is driven by the karma.[212] Further, Jaina traditions believe that there exist Abhavya ("incapable"), or a class of souls that can never attain moksha ("liberation").[205][213] The Abhavya state of soul is entered after an intentional and shockingly evil act.

You might believe in a soul, you might not, but some argue exactly that: Parts of the elite engage in shocking acts of intentional evil to dessever their connection to "god" and want to also dessever yours. That's what happens if you sell your soul for power. Where were you when you found out vampirism is real?

Probably a shitty translation, had to look up a word and seems like I got it wrong. I meant like cut off, or disconnect.

Paraphrasing the Buddha: if the soul were self, it would be possible to say "let my soul be thus."
But because you can't make your soul be however you want, you can't call it "self" nor can you say it's "yours".

Therefore, the soul may or may not exist, but it is certainly not yours nor can it be considered "self". This is the annatta doctrine of not self.

This is the essential difference between Hinduism and Buddhism.
If you regard anything whatsoever as a permanent self, you can never be unbound from samsara.

Annatta means not self. There is no me or mine that is permanent. I am nobody's anyone or anything anywhere. Any other stance invites suffering, gives it a footing to proliferate
