I own a little place on the outskirts of town close to the local oilfield. Mostly Mexican food, and of course we have taco Tuesdays. I get a lot of customers come lunch time, and Fridays are really busy since we got our liqueur license just a few months ago. I am trying like hell to open another diner at a different location, but that requires me to leave the job to oversee construction at the new place. Every time I leave, my workers manage to fuck things up. I come back to customer complaints, I have to refund meals, broken plates, spilled food, unwashed dishes, etc. After a few years trying to manage idiots like this and going through tons of people, I have a realized that that workers really are a underclass of people. Some times you get one that seems really motivated and works hard off the start, but it is always the same story after a few months.

Turns out that it was more cost effective for Ritz-Carlton to hire workers and pay them well than for the low-budget chain to hire workers for minimum wage.
