As someone whos been teaching myself the violin for about 2 and a half years, its cool to see other people starting out. You can measure the stickers, there are guides online for exact measurements. Try not to rely on them for too long if you can.
Look up sevcik on imslp, he has great books. Start with Op1 book 1. It will pretty much keep you going forever. And watch a lot of pros play on youtube, you can learn a shit ton from just watching.

I tried to rally Jow Forums into fighting against the appalling CAPTCHA service to post here. It failed miserably because no one cares. Another shot in the foot for privacy and free speech. A learning experience for me how ingenuine anons really are.

I actually got more done this year as a newfag than I did in the three years previous to being a newfag

- got a job relevant to my interests me and challenges me sufficiently with lots of room for growth and vertical mobility
- started lifting
- avoid almost all carbs in my diet, my psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis have nearly disappeared completely
- moving out my parents home in January, already found a roommate
- just bought a my neighbors car and on my own insurance now
- new found respect for the judo-christian religion of the west and new found disdain for larping atheists
