You have lots of people to carry on your lineage/legacy should one of them die, you create a network of people that a family member can fall back on should they fall on hard times, and you have people to keep you healthy and out of the nursing home when you’re old. The benefits of large families far outweigh the cost. Westerners could really learn something from Muslims in this regard.
