"Stalingrad" it's a german movie showing the german soldiers' side very empathetically, showing them suffer the winter and being crushed under soviet tanks, mostly young guys who didn't even want to be there

It's an anti-fascist, anti-war movie though. Not sympathetic to the Nazis in any way, shape or form. It's also the first step of demoralization, to show war as a senseless slaughter with meaningless sacrifices, which is usually followed by the apologoism or glorification of the ideological enemy, here communism.
