This. There are thousands of different types of cancer, and probably more than hundreds of different types of a specific cancer, such as lung cancer. Of course, within the classification of lung cancer you have small cell, non-small cell, etc. but each of these cancers has different mutations and will continue to mutate further. That is why we cannot simply cure cancer. Granted, even though there are so many different types of any one cancer, there are usually only a few driving forces that really need be targeted, and these things are being worked on with immunotherapy. We still end up with some patients who benefit and are cancer free and others who don't benefit at all.
