Talking to a lawyer isn't a bad idea once you hear from the President's office, especially if they're looking like they might expel you.
Look into your state's wiretapping laws. A decent number of states allow you to record conversations without the other party's knowledge or consent. If, and only if, your state allows you, record any verbal conversations you have. DO NOT do it if it's a 2 party state, since that kind of stuff can lead to bigger problems.
Get everything is writing as best as possible, and if the emails are in your uni's email system, make sure to back them up elsewhere and/or print them out.
If you're feeling ballsy, you can pull the race card on your prof, though once pulled you have to stick to it. However if you're asian, you slants are more privileged than whites when it comes to academics, so good luck.
Finally, as others have suggested, contacting a sympathetic news org might work if things are looking bad. But that's also something that can't be undone, and if you goal is just to get back to class, I'd save it to last (and not pull the race card).
Assuming you're in otherwise fine academic standing (not on probation), they'll probably just try to scare you, get you to recant, and get back to paying your tuition.

2. Talk to a lawyer. They might not be able to stop the actual suspension/expulsion, but they can sue the college and get you shekels. Most college administrators are absolutely clueless and are used to doing whatever they feel like. Outside of their little pond they learn real quick that they aren't nearly as big a fish as they thought, that there are rules they have to play by, and not playing by those rules can be costly. Often times suspension or expulsion is a violation of an implied contract, and at a public university it can be a violation of property rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

3. Do not apologize. Do not admit you did anything wrong. Don't give them any rope to hang you by.
