If your bottom bun is soggy it means your burger is no longer fresh. The entire purpose of the bread in a sandwich is to soak the juices and keep the delicious thing together. That's also why you have a middle bun in large sandwiches, to soak the juices from the double patties. Also the cheese seals the juices of one side of the burger patty while holding loose toppings in place, the sauces also hold toppings in place.
