What's wrong with telling your wife-to-be that you want all future kids to be DNA tested? I find it surprising that many people are against this.

I don't actually understand this logic. I mean sure, you can happily take your wife's word for it, but what's wrong with verifying it to be sure? If there's a way to verify that your spouse is not cheating on you right now and to be notified whenever an affair happens, I believe that a lot of people, men or women, would make use of that. DNA testing the kids when they are born also helps avoiding mistakes where the hospital gives you the wrong kid or find out some diseases earlier.
So I don't think anything is wrong with DNA testing right after birth. Is that not the case and I don't understand social norm? Does such a concept ruin romance and trust for people somehow?

The reason is usually, as explained in the OP post, that people that are in love are supposed to "trust" each other. Women are supposed to decline marriage proposal from any men that makes such a DNA testing suggestion because, apparently, they don't have enough trust. It should be mandatory in order for the names to be included in the birth certificate (yes, both names since surrogate mothers are a thing). DNA testing should be done automatically on everyone to help screen them against possible diseases. There are some medical conditions that some people are flat out immune to and never have to worry about, wouldn't it be useful for people to know what these are? You could focus on trying to focus on mitigating risk of the things you are likely to obtain.

Besides diseases screening, it does nothing bad to be sure the kid is yours too. Hospitals here give couples wrong kids once in a while and usually a family like that only finds out the truth much later after doing DNA test on a whim.

I just looked it up out of curiosity. Here you can do it anonymously, even without actually identifying anyone. It's freely accessible in pharmacies, private and public laboratories and some companies do it too.
I'm not a lawfag but I got the impression that to present that test as evidence in court it has to be done with both parent's consent or it's technically not allowed. But the courts here tend to be more lenient so I don't think it's a big deal, they'd probably force a paternity test out of formality.

When you ask for a paternity test you are saying very simply "I do not trust that you have not cheated on me and I do not trust you." As relationships are built on trust, saying I don't trust you can be incredibly insulting and hurtful at the least, and it can cause enough mental trauma to eventually lead to the relationship breaking down. The real issue here is that society as a whole is breaking down to the point where no one can trust each other anymore. People are assumed guilty instead of innocent. Everyone has to lock their doors. No one helps out anyone in need for fear of getting blamed. In a healthy society there's no fear that your wife is cheating on you.
