He seems an odd choice to assign as ancestor to a group one considers bad. It seems to me that Esau was a Chad tricked by a Virgin.

There is this trend in the bible of the second born son taking the birthright and preference of the firstborn;

God doesn't particularly care how rugged an individual is since that tends to mean that they are more violent. Cain offered a slaughtered lamb while Abel offered some fruits. God preferred Abel's offering and rugged hunter Cain slew his gentle farmer brother. Think of it this way;

That’s how I interpret it now. I’m not religious, but it seems to me Cain’s sin was envy and the story was to show that sometimes no matter how much effort you put into something, you can still fail. Ideally then one would work on improving themselves instead of taking it out on others who have succeeded honestly. In a way Cain was the first SJW.
