Leftie types have been critiquing the humanities for a while now, for perpetuating a non-radical moralizing agenda and calling it "radical" for just how ridiculous and all-consuming the guilt it peddles is. For the Campus Left, politics ceased to be about challenging power structures, but about changing the color/gender of the power structure, so that everyone gets oppressed equally. Actually analyzing the power relations in world has become taboo, preaching morals to people who happen to be losing the Oppression Olympics has become the norm.
This "experiment" demonstrated just how vacuous academia has become as a result. It no longer matters what you say, all that matters is how you say it.
