CURRENT RUNDOWN: >Tropical Depression Michael >Currently located just off the coast of the Yucatan Peninsula >NHC currently shows the system strengthening to a Hurricane with 80 MPH sustained winds >However, this projection is noted as being very conservative, as some global models show Michael stregthening to a Cat 3+ >The system has rapidly become better organized, suggesting that rapid intensification is highly likely as it enters the Gulf of Mexico >Interests along the Gulf coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle should closely monitor Michael's progress and prepare accordingly.
Tropical Cyclone heat potential map. This shows how much deep warm water there is. Not many systems have had the chance to tap into that deep warm water in the Western Gulf this season, Michael maybe the first to do so.
So what does all of this mean? Is 950mb good? I'm a software developer, not a meteorologist
Brayden Hernandez
See here "mb" = Barometric Pressure. Basically, it measures how high or low the air pressure is. Lower Pressure = Stronger Storm Higher Pressure = Weaker Storm
Also, pic related shows the current intensity model runs. Most show at least Cat 1 while some flirt with Cat 3+
Satellite imagery is Showing Michel quickly getting its act together. Strong Convection is beginning to wrap around a tight, warm core. Wouldnt be surprised if we had a strong TS/Cat 1 hurricane by the end of the day
oh good the eastern part of NC could use more water.
Nicholas Robinson
When this baby hits sub 950MB you're going to see some serious shit.
Joseph Cook
We'll see user. As this user pointed out Harvey went from TS Nothingburger to HOLY FUCKING SHIT HABBBENING!!!!! in a matter of a day. The warm water is there, very little wind shear to inhibit growth
Easton Robinson
How much overwarsh is there going to be?
Kevin Sanders
We can only pray for something like that - I'd be so down. Hurricane parties during Irma at FSU last were were INSANE. I really hope it happens again
Underrated. This right here will be the key. SSTs are one thing, but if the warm water doesnt go deep enough, upwelling will cause weakening, see Florence as a recent example of this. In this case, the water is certainly warm enough and deep enough
Christopher Young
Plenty. God I cant wait for the Jeff stream regardless of hat happens here
Gabriel Murphy
This is actually nothing. What a wasted thread slot
Sebastian Adams
Real Jeff hours WHEN???
Brandon Torres
You have worse storms than this that occur all throughout the year, the only difference is they put a name on this one.
It's fucking nothing, unless you consider a power outage in Tallahassee for a few days a "happening".
Gavin Harris
>Hurricane fags desperately hoping for a last minute happening It's over. Maybe next year.
Evan Wright
That stallout after landfall is insane. No wonder Houston got shit on.
I see HIDF is still around. Why dont you all read the thread before posting? NHC is WAY behind on Michael's true intensity track indicated by the global models. Just like they were with Harvey
Colton Watson
YYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS
HURRICANE PARTY @ MY PLACE
Jace Lee
Declaring a State of Emergency means shit. Every governor relatively close to the projected forcast of any natural disaster does it to mitigate political backlash.
Connor Perez
Yeah, just like Hurricane Florence was supposed to be a Cat 5.
Luke Walker
I’m from Florida and went through at least thirty hurricanes. They were all pussies and only good for taking windy jogs
Brandon Ramirez
>last minute LOL? October is peak hurricane month. The coastal Atlantic waters are at their warmest temps. right now.
William Scott
None of the reputable models showed Cat 5 for florence consistently. As indicated here Upwelling of cold water from below the surface is what fucked Florence more than anything. The deep warm water of the Gulf will make it highly unlikely for this to happen this time
Jeremiah Rogers
Sandy hit NYC on November 1st. It's the 4th quarter but the game is far from over.
Ryder Parker
Fuck off dumb commie. Its faggots like you who i hope get BTFO by shit like this
>Declaring a State of Emergency means shit Incorrect. If people are caught looting during a state of emergency they are committing a felony. That may not mean much, but under FL law you can use stand your ground to defend against people looting your store/house even if your life isn't threatened.
Brody Morales
Friendly Reminder for Faggots like this Of just how quickly a forecast can change t.Harvey
I am referring to the potential impact (or lack thereof) of the storm, not what its legal meaning.
Hudson Mitchell
FSU nigger here. How much class am i missing?
James Cook
Two days. maybe wednesday afternoon.
Matthew Carter
Still not true, as it allows the state to access federal funds and federal agencies that normally would not be available.
Doesn't really matter as the college education system became a joke sometime 20 years ago.

At least a couple days You know i really dont get people like you. Are you just here to rustle some jimmies? You obviously arent interested in bringing anything insightful to the thread.
Logan Russell
Yes! Cat 5 doomcane slamming into FSU! Go Semen Holes!
Isaiah Thompson
>You know i really dont get people like you. Are you just here to rustle some jimmies? You obviously arent interested in bringing anything insightful to the thread.
Maryland declared a State of Emergency for Florence.
Robert Davis
hoping for katrina pt.2
Justin Johnson
>Maryland declared a State of Emergency for Florence.
What in the actual fuck did that have to do with my post or my question? Weather is a very volatile and hard to predict phenomenon, ESPECIALLY Hurricanes. If people in Portland, TX went by the initial NHC cone for Harvey, they'd all be dead see here
Cameron Martinez
Based Hurricane poster. Thanks. I live on the coast and flooded last year. I had no idea anything was happening.
These. /ahsg/ has become a staple of Jow Forums since Matthew in 2026. We get info way faster than anybody in the MSM
Logan Wilson
>We get info way faster than anybody in the MSM This. I have TWC on in the background while I post in /AHSG/ and They are always behind on their hurricane coverage compared to us.
Benjamin Ross
IR satellite showing Pants shitting high amounts of sustained convection and better organization of clouds and thunderstorms around a warm core
Checked. It's amazing how our hivemind is more effective than paid consultants, intelligence agencies, mainstream media, and the fucking weather channel.
There's no way this isn't going to turn into something. The Gulf is HOT right now, and it's been way too quiet. All we have got this year is florence, which wasn't shit. We didnt even lose power. Way past due for a big one.
Sebastian Barnes

Anybody Downplaying this one is kidding themselves
This was just earlier today, too pretty large areas of convection with crazy cold cloup tops. This thing will be a hurricane faster than the NHC's current forecast
>Anybody Downplaying this one is kidding themselves Said the exact same thing about Florence
Jordan Russell

THIS
ITS JUST AN ATTEMPT TO JEW YOU OUT OF MONEY
DO NOT LISTEN TO PEOPLE WHI TELL YOU TO PREPARE
Hunter Carter
The problem with Florence was upwelling of cold water from beneath the surface and 30 knots of vertical wind shear outta fucking nowhere.
That same issue will not apply here, see Hurricane Harvey as a good example
Jaxson Jenkins
To be fair, Florence was a beast and the east coast lucked out that it was moving slow enough to churn up cold water to help weaken itself. The storm had a massive wind field, which means crazy storm surge Hurricanes are not easily predictable, but it's always better to prepare for the worst, then to say "nah it will be good" and then die
Aiden Morgan
This. Its currently in a high shear environment that is expected to lessen as well, making this convection even more impressive
Luis Perry
You should always have a 2 week supply of bottled water and canned food for emergencies. Staying at you house is entirely up to you.
Joseph Roberts
>this post was brought to you by Publix, your neighborhood choice for hurricane survival gear and subs

And this kids is how people get killed, listening to fags like this
