Hey, Austrians, how would Austria be for an American right-wing populist with a triple major in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, and Geman? Moving from the US in a few years after I get out of college and seeking to immigrate to a firmly conservative country/ a country that has a working political system.

Bump. Also curious

Probably should send this out when it’s not 5am over there... hindsight’s a bitch...

fuck off we're full

Merkel says otherwise lmao

I used google translate for a few nouns I didn’t know, but the rest is personal knowledge.

no mutt allowed

Also fragst du deutsche ganz einfach

Stupid nazi bitch! How dare you betray your Queen Merkel! You need to respect migrants' right.

Now bend over, nazi white boi.

Ist ein Weg zu unterscheiden Deutschen und die volk von Deutschland?

fuck its 6 am in germany and Im too tired to read youre google translated sentence pls respond in english

I’m going to college on the government’s dime, actually I’m making money going to college for the first 4 years

but that cant be OP has university level german

That wasn’t Google Translated, I’m asking if there is a way to differentiate German (as in ethnicity/culture) and German as in someone from Germany, because it gets confusing.

No, I don’t, I’m going to university next year.

I wonder whats going on in austria with that right wing government

That’s just the amount I’ve self taught to make college life easier for the first year

ah...well good luck fellow burger from some shit posting user double majoring whose language of choice is russian...fuck this language is hard

it gets confusing because the concept of germany always meant every german speaking countries people saw themselves as german first and then whatever region youare from even famous austrian people always called themselves german. Germany today is a state that doesent include all german states Austria is basically a german state and therefore the people are german but they arent a part of the country called Germany. The concept of Folk transcends the concept of States.

with a heavy accent, you will always be treated like a Tschusch
not in a mean way, but people will talk slowly and patronizing with you.

also, you better be able to handle some alcohol.
I've never had to drink as much as during business meetings (but that's probably a regional / company thing)

politics isn't really discussed in public.
then again, accusing someone of being a nazi isn't really a problem for most people, so as long as you don't go balls to the walls crazy, nobody cares what you're spouting.

regarding jobs, there are some pretty decent ones, but you're probably better off elsewhere f you wanna make big money, especially with your qualifications.
there are only so many in this small country you would fit, and most you only get in via connections.

Thanks, I was deciding between German and Russian, going to an academy for upperclassmen years of highschool (basically a nice way of saying skipping 2 years of highschool and going straight to college, because I’ll be taking all college classes.) and they primarily offer Russian, Mandarin, and Arabic, but offer other languages too. I looked into Russian, decided it would be better to take German.

+ also the mainstream austrians of today would NEVERR call themselves german and yes you guessed it, it is because its a " I get out of Holocaust guilt card" which infact is good because they are a proud country and respect their tradition because of that. This makes me sad but at the same time Im happy for my austrian german friend that they managed to hold on to their dignity

Wie lange hast du lernen?

Österreich ist eine deutsche Provinz, du Fettsack.

Was ist des deutschen vaterland Fritz?

The german language has a different grammar you cant just use your own grammar you sound like a turkrouch with this kind of sentence structure.

>not throwing your trash into the Heimat is a bad thing now

How would I say it then?

Ein Jahr

Keep it simple unless you can’t is my rule.

Actually most Austrians today get a bit offended, when you refer to them as Germans. This is an absolute "don't".
Almost no innocent mistake is worse: Ask about our famous kangaroos, tell us your first association ist Adolf Hitler, sing "Edelweiß" (don't expect anyone to recognize it, here) - all is well as long as you don't call us Germans.
This was different 100 years ago...

Wie lange hast du gelernt? This would be appropriate grammar. But it still sound stiff so this would sound even more natural . Wie lange lernst du schon?

100 years ago? no I would say maybe since the 50s or 60s

how do you say shut the fuck up you nigger

Pretty much depends, there is a work visa for skilled people that fill a position for which the company cant find an austrian.

Also austria is pretty small, some provinces (styria, salzburg, upper austria, tyrol, vorarlberg) are based but vienna is a socialist/green hellhole.
You can make decent money, (if you compare salaries to germany keep in mind you get 14 payments in austria) you pay a shitload of taxes (~50%) but at leadt you (and everybody else, working or not) get good health insurrance (+dental) for it.

Gun laws are semi-ok, but if you are no citizen you cant own any firearms.

You can apply for citizenship after 5 years of residence (if you did not recieve welfare) keep in mind, if you become a citizen under 35 and have no serious health issues you will be drafted into the military for 6 months of service (not to bad, employers are cool with it and have to give you the same job when you return)

What else do you want to know?

But what is the proper way to specify Germany germans vs. other german speaking nationals?

Thanks, I've only just been introduced to the Perfekt tense yesterday.

>defending the trashoger

Attached: UfmFzld.jpg (1446x757, 113K)

>Halt die Fresse du Neger!

How is austrian cities

I read that non-citizens we’re allowed to apply for a firearms permit to own long arms (rifles/shotguns), is that not true?

what do you mean with other german speaking national like swiss? or other german speaking parts or countries? sry Im really tired and cant think straight

What programs/websites have you been using? I started with Duolingo, but have moved on to Babbel.

Danke Hans.

would you prefer he threw it into the forest?

Austrian national identity was weak after WWI, then got slightly stronger as the government tried to keep it's independent as a separate fascist state in the 1930s.
After WWII it really started to take off - some say the soccer match in Cordoba (Argentina) in 1978 where Austria beat Germany even though they themselves were already out of the championship was a focal point of Austrian national identity.

Müllkippe?!

In English, I would call someone from Germany, German. I would call someone from Austria, Austrian. How do I say “German” in German, while referring to people specifically from Germany, not another German speaking nation. Sorry, I can’t think of any other way to phrase this question.

I started with Duolingo as well, then just started watching German TV shows with English subs and vice-versa, plus music and just googling words I don’t know, my grammar is shit but I’ll fix that after proper education, I can at least get my point across usually

gun laws are being changed right now (EU makes guidelines that nations have to fulfill by creating laws)
And one of the proposed points is a gun ban for Drittstaatsangehörige (meaning non austrian citizens or eu citizens)
Maybe there will be a way, but dont count on it.

sadly today I think every other german speaking country would hate to be called german. So yes you would calls someone from Germany german, from Switzerland Swiss and Austria austrian.

Du bist Deutsch, Österreich is Österreichen, Österreich ist deutsch, nicht, Korrekt?

A german is „ein Deutscher“
an austrian „ein Österreicher“
German speakers are „Deutschsprachige“ (~german languageds)

Thanks

Memrise is pretty decent and can be run offline. worth the subscription price.

the commas around " nicht " dont make sense
what is not correct that Austrians are not german ?

Also, a question about citizenship, does marriage to an Austrian national make me a duel citizen? I’ve read a bit on that subject and am still unclear

I didn’t mean to put the coma before nicht, force of habit in English

uh austria is currently not really conservative you have a better chance with trump than with the kurz baby honestly.

I mean in a few years, when the conservatives fall out of power and the Democrats get ahold of it. It’ll be a nightmare

Austrian right wing parties (and people) refer to austria as part of the german cultural-, ethnic-, and language community(Deutsche Kultur- Volks und Sprach- gemeinschaft)This is only semi accepted in the mainstream tho.

In some regions people feel like they are (for example) salzburger or tyroleans, and those are german lands (in a cultural and ethnic sense) that happen to be part of austria. But dont be mistaken, nobody wants to be part of Germany

how?

Full ride scholarship + student aid + programs in my state

so youre a non-white with a single mother?

Sorry made a mistake on that before:
its 30 years of (lawful) residence
or
15 years of residence and some requirements
or
6 years of residence + 5 years of marriage

also you have to know german an the austrian political system to some degree (easy for non-retards)

Nope, white southerner with both parents. Just really fucking smart desu

Significant knowledge of German language and proof of personal integration is what I believe I read to get citizenship in 8 years, is that also not the case?

Austria exports politicians but doesn't import them

yes, but proof of personal integration is a high bar.
It would be for example volunteering in your free time (firefighters and paramedics are partly volunteers in austria)

But dont be afraid, there is definitly a path to citizenship for people.

There ought to be a thing about the 2nd lautverschiebung in that graphic

>Just really fucking smart desu
ya im sure youre really smart moving to a country that has less jobs, less opportunities. higher taxes and stricter laws.

Attached: ewH0qhL.jpg (409x409, 41K)

To be honest i dont get that part either.

>also the mainstream austrians of today would NEVERR call themselves german
In my experience if you're talking about the distant enough past Austrians will stop drawing a distinction. For example nobody would assert a distinction between Austrian and German Minnesänger

So that leaves the last question I can think of right now, what quality of life can I expect making a 50k € salary, living in the suburb of a major city (Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, etc.)?

Mainly this is me fleshing out my plan for when America goes tits up

>rent car to visit friend in Austrian countryside
>Hannover plates
>pull into village
>group of children stop playing, point at car and start shouting "Biefke!"
>friend rolls down window "Shut up, he's American and lives in Bavaria"

Don't come here, we are full. your people where here too often for us to take any more of it!

fuck off mutt

Pretty good honestly, outside of the bigger cities people really do care about things. If you have kids they can get a good education (paid with taxes).
House prices really depend on the location (austria is small, space is limited)
If you are into that, in many places you can get around without sitting in your car all the time (non-distusting public transportations and infrastructure for bicycles)
For me, the public health insurance gives some peace of mind (f.e. knowing that poor peoples kids wont die if they have diabetes)
What i came to notice (especially in tyrol) is some level of public fitness (even the „non fit“ people are in some shape)

Food wise, there are local and organic options (if you want to avoid teh cancers)

In my opinion, drinking is a bit on the upper edge of reasonable. (f.e. adults having 6-8 beers on a night out is not considered weird)

Do you want to know more things?

Well, I have to ask, how is the refugee situation in Austria?

it's bad, they are everywhere, don't come here, we are overun, you cant help.

When Austria goes tits up, my plan is to go to Czechia or Russia.

No one likes them but they‘re here.

Who told you that we need subhuman mutts with non-Germanic heritage here?

Not your homeland, fuck off

Literally entirely Germanic ethnicity, would post Ancestry results if it wouldn’t dox me

go somewhere else then. we don't want your retarded american ass here. you people ruined your nation now fucking fix it.

i really cant say
there are some here, but i dont think more will be allowed in.
I hope that we will stop feeding them and they will either fuck off or get jobs (maybe 60% chance for that)
or they will all stay and live off welfale/low level jobs, but live in their own community.
(though: There is really no excuse not to make your own life in austria, school, trade school, university, qualification programms for jobless people are all paid for with taxes)

generally: if you avoid vienna you wont notice that much

Ok, I think that will be all, thank you very much, you have been far more helpful than I could ever have hoped a Jow Forums board could be.

SeeYour ancestors weren’t speaking and thinking in German for quite a long time, and that does change your mentality a lot.

I mean, Old Stock Germanic American is always better than a turk, subhuman mednigger or gypsy iranodinaric balkanshit, but it’s still not really your home.

>There is really no excuse not to make your own life in Austria
Like not being Southern Germanic? Try that, Kanake

southern germanic? like 15 percent of austrians have agermanic haplogroup...

Fuck off, Germans are literally miles beyond Austrians. We didn't fucking elect Angela "Wir schaffen das" Merkel, we do something to change the problems your chancellor brought upon us.

Come to Austria, it's better here than in Cuckgermany

My home is where I can live happily, with a people whom I care for and respect. If Austria can provide that, then Austria is my home. America is going to go under either in 2020 or 2024, probably the latter, I won’t be able to stay here, I can’t trust my own people now, and it will only get worse. I just want a home where I can be safe, I’ll do my part to provide for the country who takes me in, I won’t be a scum-of-the-earth refugee.

Germany seems to have more job options to get in

preach. germans went from ''fuck you austria, we are going to do our own thing'' over ''oh damn shit we got prussia genocided'' to '' we gotta abolish ourselfes and defend israel'' within 200 years. austria had to broken down and it's fertile land in südsteiermark stolen and we still didn't degenerate to german levels. we have been seperated for close to a 1000 years and that alone makes us a different people. less tolerant and better overall.

that being said anglos and muricans still shouldn't get in and neither should lowlife piefke nor arab.

Germany is also the most cucked nation in the world, they couldn’t offer me a nice enough job to live there

austria is not your home much more than it is that of an arab feeling like he just belongs here. you are not welcome, don't come here.

First, Austrians are only 70% of Austria today. Mutts don’t count as natives. Second, haplogroup doesn’t matter because Austrian autosomal DNA is otherwise Northwest-Central European. Different haplogroup simply means that some Austrians had Celtic, North Balkan and Slavic ancestor centuries ago

>If Austria can provide that, then Austria is my home
Egalitarian mentality like that is another reason why American subhumans are not welcome.

Austria is a home of German speaking Southern Germanic people
