I've spent a lot of time in the northern Nebraska panhandle (where I live) the Dakotas, the DC Smithsonian's, and guess what, everything you see in museums are just molds. Every time people try to explain things like this to me they reference (((carbon dating))). My argument is that, even if you can determine the rate at which a certain carbon isotope decays, you would have to know the concentration of carbon isotopes at the time the animal died. This assumes the rate of decay is always constant, which can be questioned. It also assumes that we could somehow know the initial concentration which seems ludicrous to me.

Am I missing something here because any time I make this argument I fail to get a challenging response?
