Why is cinema after the 90s so bad?

I get a headache watching movies from the 2000s onwards from all the cgi, shakey cam and rapid jump cuts. And the scores are terrible. Why did it all go to shit? 1999 had some terrific films.

"Shaky cam" effects are partly BECAUSE of CGI. It's easier to make a CGI scene if your "elements" are moving around quickly and chaotically, because then you don't need to worry about the kind of photorealistic detail which is expected in static shots where the viewer can actually see things. It was also influenced by the look of 90's music videos as well as earlier films like "Man Bites Dog" or "Tetsuo: The Iron Man" which were specifically intended to be disorienting and jarring.

Color grading, shit diversity actors, nu males and lesbos.

CGI certainly ruined it for me personally.

Totally agree, 1999- Sixth Sense, Thomas Crown Affair, Cider House Rules, Notting Hill, True Crime, Green Mile. Lots of good films came out that year. All of them could watch with family.
Now it's just garbage, either comic remakes which have been done to death or gross out comedies. Nothing I would bother watching.

The aesthetic changed dramatically with digital cameras. They have a hyper hi resolution quality, and they are retouched and CGIed to the max.

They seem phoney in a strange way, at least to an old fag like me. I stopped watching this crap ages ago, but I find the stuff jarring now when I occasionally see it.

I fucking hate the shakey then zoom in slightly then slight shake then zoom in fully shit in action or superhero movies so much. Its gay, no really, its gay.

The Phantom Menace (Star Wars revival) , Saving Private Ryan (shakycam) , X-Men (rise of Marvel), There's Something About Mary + Austin Powers (all comedies must have Ben Stiller and/or someone from SNL) and the Matrix (wirefu) ruined films forever.
