According to the betting markets, Republicans now currently have an over 80% chance of holding their Senate majority, up from 65% a week ago. Why did the Democrats decide to oppose Kavanaugh so vehemently? Was it worth rallying the GOP base so much just to ultimately not prevent him from being confirmed by the Senate to be on the Supreme Court?

I'm guessing they didn't expect the Republican politicians to fight back as vehemently as they did. People like Lindsey Graham growing a spine has the base fired up.

You have three ruby-red state Democrats who opposed Brett Kavanaugh - Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota and Claire McCaskill of Missouri - all in deep shit right now (especially Heitkamp) over this. Meanwhile Democrat Joe Manchin, who's running in arguably the most pro-Trump state in the country, is coasting along smoothly after voting to confirm Kavanaugh. It's such a weird unforced error on the DSCC's part, it wasn't like their 'no' votes stopped his confirmation. What is with this strategic blunder just a month before Election Day?

>52-48

So the republicans are going to gain seats? What happened to the blue wave?

It'slikely that dems win control of the house, nobody really ever though they would take the senate. It has to do with the fact that senate elections are every 6 years, not every 2 or 4, so it switches every year who is up for relelection in the senate, and in 2018 there are a ton of dems of for reelection (exposed seats) but a lot of republican seats are not up for relection, so they are safe.

they want to lose. They have to push people right in order to try to primary Trump. If they can convince enough cucks to go R but not full Trump Train, they may be able to throw a RINO contender in the mix for 2020 and hurt Trump's chances. They know Dems are fucked for the foreseeable future so now they have moved on to trying to coopt the successful party.

According to betting markets one week ago current Supreme Court Judge Kavanaugh had a 30% chance of being confirmed and joining the court.

Take your betting markets and fucking hang yourself with them you dumb nigger.

>another Republican in 2020
What kind of drugs are you on? McCain is dead, Romney is in solitude where he belongs, even the faggot Bush boys are falling in line. The old guard is dying, and the ones who are left are going full scale scorchered earth. Someday the gop will regard Trump like they use to Reagan. In what world would a possibility like this even occur.? Get off this board dipshit

Romney is running for Senate in Utah

No he isnt. And if he hasn't dropped out, he's gonna lose. Trump has more support then then any gop president since Eisenhower. 90% of republicans support him. He hasn't lost one single vote since election day, in fact he's gained votes. Millions and millions of blue collar democrats will flip and are gonna help him win in 2020.

Just stop your whole theory isn't based in reality

I honestly thought the democratic would try and retreat after that shit show of a testimony hearing. Democratic made them selfs look bad since the first hearing for his nomination, also there approach on things are getting very stale it’s always “muh free gibs” “muh niggers and spics” “muh open borders” “muh right as a women” “muh gun control”. It was only the last few days of his confirmation I heard some dem senators try to shift focus to his view on healthcare, amendment right. One brought up spying on civilians during the bush administration, but most stayed clear of that topic since their king nigger had done a lot of that during his presidency.

> your whole theory
you're replying to two different people, faggot, and you glow in the dark. Why are you so mad that TPTB are being exposed? Really makes you think. kys

>democrats thought women’s chimp outs matter to minorities
>minorities only care about minorities

Harris/Spartacus 20’

Speak English you incel dweeb

It isn't likely they gain control of the House you fucking retarded faggot.

This

Are you retarded?

Romney will win, but he's going to be the leader of a cuck insurgency which is a party of one.

It is. And they'd sweep the Senate too if more seats were up

The betting markets are volatile for one-off events like a judicial nomination, but for broader scope events like an election such as this one, they have been good predictive tools, at least as accurate as the fake polls that fake news puts out.

Stop lying.

Keeping the House is more important than gaining a few seats in the Senate, and it is also far more vulnerable.

The momentum shifted away from the Democrats thanks to Kavanaugh. Lean D districts are now listed as tossups and tossups have shifted to lean R.

They dun goofed big time.

This was an act of desperation.
DECLAS is coming.
They know they are fucked.
The wheels will fall off "muh Russia" investigation before Nov. 6

Yeah and they overestimated the media's ability to control the narrative. Some of the older Dems like Feinstein don't realize that the era of leftist media control is over.

4 days before he was confirmed the betting markets flipped on that one you tard.

>Keeping the House is more important than gaining a few seats in the Senate

Bull. Only one of the two chambers confirms Trump's judicial nominees, thus making it the much more important one, especially if Ginsburg croaks.

They don't care about the Senate. They knew it was a long shot. They want the House. They want Pelosi running wrap-up smears on everyone again.

We need both. If we don't have the House then the Democrats control spending and good luck ever getting wall funding.

The House is also where impeachment proceedings and all the 'investigations' that ever amount to anything begin.

Are we sure Ginsburg doesn't run on black fucking magic?

They also continued to push the media control into overdrive. People were beginning to see it being forced on them yet they kept on pushing harder. News, daytime talk shows, night time stand up, commercials, comedians, Hollywood, celebrities.
Yet, he won. might be a fluke.
Then things were getting better. Peace was happening. Yet they went full drive into bashing. It woke too many of their own base and on the fence people. Let's see if they double down and go harder.

yes
he is.

DONT LISTEN TO OP!

GET OUT AND VOTE!

What are the actual chances that Rs maintain the House? I don’t have a representative to vote in this election but I do have a governor to get in.

We don't have wall funding with House Republicans.

>Why did the Democrats decide to oppose Kavanaugh so vehemently

They don't have a platform. They just oppose. Additionally the powers that be prefer democrats losing to republicans than ever giving progressives a chance.

Lmao. No. Just no. Betting markets got brexit, Trump, Le Pen, and now Kavanaugh horribly wrong.

Betting markets are nothing more than liberal college students LARPing as investors.

Looks like Florida is increasingly going to go red by the day with Governor Scott. Bill Lelson is a horrible candidate and he voted no on Kavanaugh and is also tied to the gubernatorial race here with the nigger candidate, who is equally as bad, and is already been resorting to the waayyyciisss card as a means to attack DeSantis even though his economic record is shit. So we have another potential pickup opportunity down here.

Not a meme answer?

The democrats grossly overestimated the number of people who adhere to the "accusation = guilt" rule vis a vis sexual assault. They do things like this a lot, where they'll have extensive media coverage about a specific topic, catered to people who think like them and espousing their own opinion on said topic, and then trick themselves into believing that their view on the topic is the majority opinion expressly BECAUSE the media is covering it, despite the media coverage being by their own design. It's a bizarre positive feedback loop that they keep inflicting on themselves to their own detriment, and it seals them in a separate bubble world that doesn't necessarily jive with reality.

If you've been around the block a few times then you're already well aware that false assault allegations occur quite a lot; you may have been the recipient of one yourself. In a roundabout way, being a victim of something awful like that actually affords you a degree of social capital in certain circles, so it's not surprising. I've been falsely accused before, my brother's been falsely accused before, I know two other guys, and so on. Kavanaugh may very well have done it because he's a part of that frat bro culture that genuinely does commit a lot of rape; but a ton of people (women included) realize that normalizing the idea of allegations equating to truth could be disastrous and a gross affront to justice.

So a lot of the dems and dem-leaning people of all races and genders now have their excitement doused by the party's hard lean into this specific topic, and the republicans are all fired-up. Feinstein really fucked them over.

Joe Manchin will switch parties more than likely. You are also forgetting Alaska as well.
The reason is they were willing to bet everything on the line yo retake the house and Senate. The key thing is to retain the house and pick up in the Senate currently.

State and local positions are important, even if folks aren't talking much about them. I've heard strategists in public floating ways in which state-level democrat power could be used as a major lever in certain conditions, so that would be sure to come back up.

It also helps determine the future direction of both parties, since lesser red seats are a common source of future positions of power and there's no way to know what's really going to happen post Trump. So that puts them in a position where they'll keep riding popular opinion if they way to not get swapped out for whatever turns out to be the new face of the democrat party.

This is true right now.
Blame the Senate you dumbass. It's the stupid Rinos getting in the way.

Whichever side won the court fight was more likely to suffer in the midterms.
Republicans were always expected to hold the Senate due to the sheer amount of red state dems on defense this election.
But in the house the dems are expected to steamroll. So say goodbye to any Trump agenda getting accomplished after the election.

>GOP was supposed to pick up 10 seats this election
>only going to hold a 51 seat majority which includes Murkowski who isnt even a real Republican
>meanwhile the house is lost
Go ahead and keep trying to make this a positive thing.

welp, it was fun while it lasted

That chart doesn't differentiate between incumbents and flips, you know.
