you can't really un-attempt suicide. those couple surveys that get posted here specifically mention in their conclusions that they were unable to take into account when attempts occurred relative to treatment/surgical status.
it's not a stretch to suggest that those who have pursued surgical intervention have/had worse dysphoria than those who did not and it follows the rate would climb as you move up the list.

basically i think it comes down to the difference between being able to repress but no longer necessarily needing to do so. those who couldn't hide it wouldn't have been able to anyway, those who could no longer have to if they decide not to, importantly without becoming a complete outcast. you don't even have to lie to get access to legit prescribed meds anymore. that's pretty amazing.

that said, for the most part numbers and demographics are largely what they have been. males are starting to present earlier but most of the increase in mtf numbers are actually quite a bit older, well past their 30s iirc. as for ftm's there has been a huge surge in younger women presenting for treatment. it's hard to say why that is but there are probably a number of factors, i have some guesses but they're mostly speculation regarding how society treats women, coming of age with more awareness of radfem topics, and society's larger tolerance of gnc behavior in women (tying back to no longer needing to repress even though you can, it's easier the more outlets you have).
