Honestly? I feel sad. The Indian people I meet are overly friendly, almost needy. And I know exactly what they have to return to if their visa expires. Sometimes I am rude to them, I don't like to do it but it's necessary. My island only has 500000 people, around 20 per square mile. I know how Indian people can live when times get rough, and I don't want enough to them in my area so that one of them experiences this "rough time". I don't want to live in a giant ghetto. I don't want them going home with a friendly experience because it drives up the costs of food and living. it hurts people who already live here.

We should be making more of an effort to buddy up with India over Pakistan, that's for sure.

A rapidly growing economy, English is widely spoken, it's secular-ish and we have a shared history (even if that history involved a lot of shitty behaviour on our part).

India should be natural allies to Britain and we'd be wise to make fond friends of India post-Brexit.

I spent a month in northern India (I want to go back to Kashmir cuz lots of mountains & hot white chicks from Napoleon or whatever)
Personally I like India but like all 3rd world countries they shoot themselves in the foot by doing everything horrifically inefficiently, are corrupt, have too many children etc - not to mention their cleanliness standards leave much to be desired (which is really weird since they are obsessed with the way they dress). I will say their food is pretty much best in the world.
