I won a bunch of awards in highschool for short stories and poems.
It never gets better.
Most people have no creativity and no ability to convey their stories.
The people in the special education classes of my high school had more talent at this than anybody in the IB classes or college.
I think a huge part of it is minorities have a different understanding of empathy or maybe even just a lack of it. There are literal retards who will not understand a story or relate to it in any form, but if you change its central character to a black female its suddenly amazing.

Yeah it wasn't for me. I dropped out of college for a number of reasons besides that to pursue a career in welding.

I remember being in the class discussing literature classics in america such as Of Mice and Men. I sat there witnessing people completely unable to relate to anything in the books.
Even the most blatantly obvious themes will go over these peoples heads.
This general mental retardation did not go away in college.
I can't imagine it has gotten any better in recent times either. I was blessed to a hugbox that was ignorant of harry potter and the handmaids tale
