This. Being ejected form mainstream society is a huge deal in the northern European psyche.
During the last ice-age, being rejected from the group basically meant genetic and physical death and so a trait has evolved in our psychology to fear this most of all and thus conform according to the ruling moral framework.
This deep northern European existential dread of being expulsed from his group is what Millenial Woes is experiencing.
Same trait can be seen to extreme degree in the Swedish collectivist mindset.
