>The supply of legal pot in Canada will only meet 30 per cent to 60 per cent of demand after legalization, keeping the black market very much alive and stunting the government’s tax take, according to a new study.
>Cannabis supply will reach about 210 tonnes, or 210,000 kilograms, in the first year after Canada legalizes marijuana this month, according to a study to be released next week by researchers at the University of Waterloo and the C.D. Howe Institute. Demand, meanwhile, will be about 610 tonnes.
>“There will not be enough legal supply, especially during the first half of the year following legalization, primarily because of the slow rate of licensing producers,” Anindya Sen at the University of Waterloo and Rosalie Wyonch at Toronto-based C.D. Howe said in their report.
better start reaching out to the drug cartels to up the trade.
Jonathan Flores
>shortage >just after harvest
Jeremiah Baker
>Canada faces shortage of legal pot >Washington state has so much legal pot we can buy an oz for $55 How does Canada manage to fuck everything up?
Logan Sanchez
17 loons for what and how much
Kevin Martin
>legal pot in Canada will only meet 30 per cent to 60 per cent of demand, stunting the government’s tax take Canada is even incompetent at being debased
Aiden Powell
How the fuck did you manage to fuck this up to Canada
Josiah Lewis
Dude, weed lmao
Christopher Smith
don't worry. america will be supplying all your pot for you. and we will be getting lots of money for it.
Austin Adams
How fucking hard can it be to grow some more plants?
Elijah Murphy
God Canada is such a failed cuckstate.
Blake Wright
Why not just sell “do it yourself kits” to all those welfare people in Canada? One person can at least produce 100kg of cannabis a year, so you just need 4,000 NEETs to plug the cannabis demand gab.
You fucking what!? $55 burgerbux? Nah man. We range between $250-350 an oz quality dependent. Holy fuck. I'm just gonna stop smoking for a month and buy a fucking plane ticket. What in the fuck man. You've just crumbled my worldview. Fuck.
Christopher Stewart
its shitty mass produced warehouse gmo garbage
if you smoke often, you would have to smoke twice as much off that garbage compared to what you smoke now
Samuel Watson
>dude weed man can't even grow the weed christ but canada is pathetic
Daniel Cox
Growing good weed is way harder than it sounds. These guys have it down to a science.
Thomas Nguyen
Ah. I see. I've been wondering about the quality of some of those commercial strains. You're probably right. I'm an old boy and been smoking for longer than most anons here have been alive, it does take a bit to get me going these days.
Jason Hughes
Maybe I'm out of the loop or just don't have the right connection but your price sounds accurate for CA store prices on high-quality pot
Angel Garcia
Probably fake news. The demand won’t be that high. Well maybe on day one because of the celebration but I don’t see a sustained demand.
Austin Cox
It’s literally not
Jace Bennett
Don't listen to these cunts mate, you can get an ozzie oz. for like $100 that will fuck you blind in the states, try going to Seattle for a week and you'll have a good time.
Protips: >rent AIRBNB, you can get an actual house or apartment with all the legal protections and ability to smoke inside, they will indicate that it's fine to smoke or have roof/outside space for ya. It's also cheaper than hotels somehow. >get yr. flight through google flights, they have it sorted where you can find like 200 flights and buy direct through an airline for dead cheap prices >go outside of holidays, super cheap
And you'll have a solid time, plus you can literally just take an uber or lyft with your phone to wherever in the city and with the airbnb you're basically a native for a week or whatever.
All you need in washington to buy weed is a passport or photo ID that says you're over 21 and THAT'S IT. You can get loads of crazy shit too.
James Fisher
Horseshit. Growing weed to dispensary quality is a full-time job. t. grower from Colorado
Gavin Butler
You sir are a scholar and a gentleman. Cheers for the info, all news to me.
It's not that hard at all if you can grow tomatoes you can grow weed.
Nicholas Allen
canadians like their hash and oil better..
Caleb Foster
It's the quantity faggot
Dominic Price
>fpbp
Isaiah Allen
>shitty mass-produced garbage Shitty? No, but there will be more stems to pick off Mass-produced? Yes Garbage? No
>it will take you twice as much to get high Completely false. Much of the stuff I buy is 20%+ of THC
I have a volcano vaporizer so I just grind everything anyway, and I get a nice high for cheap.
I vape at least 8 times every day, and I spend maybe $150/month
That guy doesn't know what he's talking about. We also get much cheaper edibles and oils.
Yesterday I picked up 1gram of oil 77% concentrate for $12
Jason Scott
>it's not how much is being smoked it's the industry being choked by regulation and licensing that many start-ups can't afford there is a way around this, just create official county auctions, the goods are tested on site before being auctioned, buyers pay the tax
Joseph Rodriguez
>. Growing weed to dispensary quality is a full-time job. t. grower from Colorado what about those guys who got caught putting shit on the weed for mites and gave their customers lymphoma and lost everything?
also growing weed requires daily babysitting but it isn't that bad
Angel Bell
Its a federal ie Trudeau, project so its incredibly mis-handled
Anthony Hernandez
>Much of the stuff I buy is 20%+ of THC THC isn't the only thing though, some of the weeds you will see have less than 20% but are high in another compound that potentiates the thc making that weed super killer
Chase Gonzalez
These ounces are only $50, and they absolutely will get you stoned as good or better than buying from a guy down the street
Christ almighty boys. I've never been so keen to pack my bags and jump the next flight. Good lads, all of you. This has been an enlightening thread to say the least.
Josiah Sullivan
True, such as terpenes. The problem is that the only thing on the label as far as intoxicants goes is THC, so that's all we can go off of.
I've had 12% thc bud knock me on my ass and I've had 20% that does almost nothing, but it's hit and miss
Caleb Myers
Weed is degenerate. Only low income faggots and minorities smoke to push away reality.
Owen Jackson
Good thing I'm not dependent on the black market anymore because I'm sure some of the American black market supply will be diverted up there for this and it would probably raise prices.
Nolan Sullivan
>store price
He’s talking about price right from a grower which means no distributor has to be paid, no retailer has to be paid, and no tax is collected.
Noah Rodriguez
>The problem is that the only thing on the label as far as intoxicants goes is THC, so that's all we can go off of. no most strains have had a test done and in CA testing is mandatory for all items sold, terpines are measured and catalogged but they are finding new ones all the time, at least 40 have been discovered so far
t. weedlab man
Brody Lee
Not with the advances in genetics they've made. You can literally just put it in a pot and water it and get dank as fuck nugs because they've bred these fuckers to produce resin like nothing else.
Anthony Torres
>I've had 20% that does almost nothing haha, reminds me of Colorado,
hey guys it's cute that this sticker says 30% THC on it but when I smoke I want to get high
Levi Scott
>they've bred these fuckers to produce resin like nothing else. no, the plants were like that for a long time, just a lot of bad shit was bred and inbred because of prohibition
the original landrace strains that count had huge THC and were grown for their ability to produce resin crystal to make hashish
Jayden Wilson
Pretty much only the Indian/himalayan and afghani weed was bred over time like that. There's a lot of other landraces like thai, columbian, durban, etc that just grew wild and were for the most part really low in THC until they were selectively bred for higher THC. It didn't take long for them to get really dank though. The resin is used to capture pollen so the plants needed to produce it in order to survive.
John Perez
Canada doesn't do anything the right way, the government is only legalizing pot to make another captured market for their political friends.
Jackson Hughes
>There's a lot of other landraces like thai, columbian, durban, etc that just grew wild and were for the most part really low in THC until they were selectively bred for higher THC
you can't selective breed higher THC, this plant was strong from the beginning and elements have preserved that strength, for instance the Thai stick strain you talk about, was created by the US Army by crossing an Afghan with local Thai bud, which is why the 2nd generation of it sucked so bad compared to the first, the locals did not have access to the original afghan landrace, very few people have the heat when it comes to those old strains
>Canada doesn't do anything the right way just like the USA
Juan Cox
>>Canada doesn't do anything the right way >just like the USA The US does way more the right way than Canada does.
Brody Parker
What did they use for spidermites? You only need lemon juice or hydrogen peroxide. Were they Chinese growers?
Thomas Williams
>The US does way more the right way than Canada does. tell that to Mark Emery or Kevin Mitnick
Henry Edwards
Fortunately, cannabis use in Canada is self-limiting >torque some 'loads >get munchies >go to store >C$50 for two bags of chips and 2 litre Coke
Jayden Ortiz
>What did they use for spidermites? I forget the name of it, systemic industrial pesticide
Tyler Hill
You could always import from the US pacfic northwest. Those folks have gotten stupid good at measuring THC levels, and, if I'm reading the literature correctly, have made strains that are literally 50% THC.
Elijah Fisher
>Torque some 'loads With legal pot is all this stupid slang going to die off?
Jayden Lewis
>Shortage of degenerate illegal substance
Who cares? Less potheads around is a good thing. Yes, using "medicinal" weed makes you a pothead.
Hudson Roberts
I’ll just keep buying it illegally like all my smokes and liquor.
Liam Brooks
The average Canadian smokes approximately 3 grams a day.
Christian Long
It's not just Canada either. Hell, Vermont fucked up legalization by not allowing sales.
Jordan Perez
>Vermont fucked up legalization by not allowing sales. ? I thought they were the only state who wrote a law without ballot initiative?
they're refusing to allow shops to open or they want the entire thing kept gray market? whats the arrests there like? Vermont was always a grower haven
Caleb Wood
It's because they decided to legalize it in the middle of fucking winter
Isaiah Price
>no >weedlabman I have tons of empty oz packages, dude, the only intoxicants listed are THC, and your weedlabman certificate doesn't change that.
Ayden Garcia
>be Trudeau >legalize weed
If there's no weed on the shelves, you win!
Isaiah Cooper
>the only intoxicants listed are THC, not sure what laws are about labeling there, my lab reports have a full spectrum of terpenes and contaminants, maybe you should get your stuff tested yourself? costs about 50 bucks
Julian Kelly
>Colorado bud I'm glad I'm not the the only one who didn't get high from Colorado bud.
Went to Denver a few years ago for a concert and had to keep smoking and smoking to get high.
I bought an expensive bar of chocolate and ended up having to eat the whole thing to feel a little body buzz
Jayden Brown
This
It's an artificial shortage because they want to charge $37.99 a gram instead of the street price of $10 a gram tops.
Tyler Rivera
Soon the government will be shilling weed supply management and muh pot growers families to try and keep us paying $50 a gram.
I’ll just keep buying it illegally, same way I don’t pay $13 for smokes and $30 for a 24. Best friend grows weed, his dad brews beer and wine, and I live 10 minutes from the rez. Can’t imagine paying what these statist cucks are gunna be stuck with.
Robert Collins
Yeah but then they'll change the law so home growers get 15 year minimum sentences to "keep marijuana out of the hands of children." This isn't legalization, not even close, it's prohibition 2.0.
Christian Harris
I can get weed for 4.28 a gram off doobdasher without a greencard and they'll mail it right to my fucking door. Enjoy your shitty native grown weed and native rolled tobacco while missing out on quality. doobdasher.com/product/orange-haze/ Just an example of the finer things in life. Clean, safe, and not from a bunch of dirty natives.
Alexander Turner
>buy $50 oz >pay $50 to test it Why would I do that?
Whatever is in it is in it. Testing it doesn't change anything
Nathaniel Johnson
>Why would I do that? to have information about what you're putting in your body, if you get negative results you can find a new grower or grow yourself
if you are a grower so you can grow your stuff better and be better informed about whats in it
50 bucks isn't a lot of money user
Brody Murphy
Nice reading comprehension you nigger.
The only thing I get from natives are my smokes because fsuck $5 in tax a pack. The weed I get comes from my best friend since the age of 12, it’s better than your internet bullshit. Totally want Canada Post to have my mailing address on file with some Chinese drug company.
who the fuck even cares, everyone buys weed online anyways. its 2018
Jordan Adams
>artificial price inflation Ok, to be fair Washington had that problem at first too.
>black market weed $150-300/oz >legal weed is $400/oz Washington insisted on huge markups for every step of the process, because they wanted big tax revenue from every step.
>grower has huge markup to wholesaler >wholesaler has huge markup to stores >stores have huge markup to customers
Legalizing pot doesn't do any good unless it leads to lower prices than black market. Now we buy pot cheap and the gov't actually gets to collect taxes
Cooper Hill
Yeah that's gonna be fucking impossible to explain to Canadian politicians, keep in mind our prime minister thinks it's a good idea to import welfare recipients and give away all our gold so that the budget balances itself. We're gonna have $900 ounces and anyone who has anything to do with pot illegally will face harsher punishment than you would for heroin.
Bentley Foster
Then your politicians don't understand economics.
>allow production to be cheap enough that it's lower than black market >collect taxes >citizens now spend LESS on pot and have more money for other things
