SHe timed it intelligently -- the voter registration period for the upcoming elections is about to end in Tennessee, everybody is pushing to get folks registered, folks who have been meaning to do it but putting it off suddenly get it done, etc. There is always a spike in new registrations when that happens, even if pop stars forget to say anything.

Menawhile, when you look at polling that looks at actual races instead of "generic R vs. D" polling, which is meaningless this late in an election cycle, and look at it be state and district, it look like the house my shift one seat, maybe two, and it could go either way. Meanwhile, the GOP looks very safe in races that will leave them with a total of 49 in the Senate, the Dems look like their floor is 44, with 7 still very much in play. Dems have to run the table on those 7 to take the Senate, which is not impossible -- but I like the GOP's chances better.
