It is 2 sides of a coin. You can say it is in response to labor costs, or you can say it is in response to stock prices. The outcome is the same. IF they cannot pay a fair wage for a fair days work to a citizen of their own country, they are doing it for profit. When they shake up a company, keep it stateside and reorganize and make a winner out of it again, that is in response to labor costs. If they ignore the people of the country they are scuzz. I don't care what name is on my car's hood. I only buy american made with union labor. It should be pretty apparent what kind of car I drive. This dumb tradesman makes $45/hour + benefits including a pension and annuity and vacation. I also get plenty of overtime. There are pros and cons to any job. I am at the point where I pick every project I work on, and I only go to projects that have HEAVY things. Lots of large diameter pipes are great. Have you ever seen anyone lift 36" pipe fittings? Nope. They have a machine that does that. I get paid to use machines to lift and spend my time not breaking my back. I move things with my mind and some mechanical help.

You need to fix your unions and get them to focus solely on wages and working conditions, not on social progressivism.
