Most likely that would be factually inaccurate.
The natives were actively trading with white settlers throughout the pioneer and settlement periods for guns and other technological advancements. This initially was a way to use the technological advance of muskets in order to wage war on other tribes.
Had their been enough time, no British and thereby proxy American expansionism into the west or major settlement, then the it's likely a single or a few more powerful hegemonic native nations would have destroyed their rival tribes and established their own expanded nation states.
The very idea that disparate native societies existed in some sort of cooperative peace among their fellow brother tribes is simply preposterous.
They were just as violent against each other if not more so, than they were against white settlers.

I think the Indians were about 2000 years behind with development. In North America there was mega-fauna to deal with but they still built Cahokia Mounds which was most likely also a trade center. Some of the early explorers take on the natives was positive. I am a firm believer that the regions had different genetic histories. Southeast Indians were called giants. The Central American Indians would never be called that. Facial features and body types are very different by region as well.

I think people get hung up on the tee-pee plains Indians and buffalos in the plains and think that's all there is to Indians. In the southwest there were some awesome cultures built upon previous cultures that evolved and moved and changed over time. They had monumental scale architecture, agriculture and water control and were mostly non migratory while still partially gatherer based to help sustain during crop troubles.

They were a couple thousand and a half years behind Europe sure, bit there wasn't nothing. And there certainly was castles since that is ypur arbitrary benchmark of existence.
