The most the supreme court could do is overturn Roe v Wade, all that would do is turn it back to individual states.

I wouldn't expect the court to reverse degeneracy that has already happened, they will only prevent further degeneracy from taking place

Any state could have tried to make laws banning it at any time. Roe v. Wade or not if the states had the will they could just keep rephrasing things or coming up with some other legal pilpul to just keep throwing laws at it faster than the laws could be overturned by the courts.

They basically did do that. Remember that big shitstorm in Texas over abortion doctors having admitting privilege, clinics had to basically be hospitals all on their own, etc.? The idea was a soft ban it by making running an abortion clinic all but impossible, without actually declaring abortion itself illegal.
