Correct. Christ on the is the representation of man in life. We are imprisoned and bound on the twin axis of space and time, divorced from the divine and screaming that our father had forsaken us. The only way through is to emulate Christ and go willingly to our fate, accepting and actively engaging and by doing so ascending beyond our predicament

What it "means" is less important than the values it instills, i.e. that sacrificing for others is the greatest act one can do.
That's great and all when sacrificing for others means sacrificing for your people. When you twist it into universalist nonsense you end up with the state of the modern West though.
Jonathan Bailey

Well, of all of the abuse, 81% of it is homosexual in nature; and it was post-pubescent victims, thus not pedophilia but ephebophilia. The distinction matters because it's a homosexual thing.
There was a concerted effort in putting homosexual men with Marxist leanings into the priesthood in the 20's. They in turn rose in prominence and brought in other homosexuals.
And yet, only 4% of priests have been accused, and 2% of them have been proven.

From a social perspective, it means being killed for being an outsider. Being killed for preaching against the norms and mores of the society that you inhabit and offering a way of life contrary to it. This is only tolerated for so long until you step on the wrong persons toes. Jesus certainly wasn't the only one in such a position (e.g., Socrates was also condemed to death for similar reasons).
If you are a deemed an outsider by your society but don't cause a ruckus, you are killed emotionally and mentally by society (i.e., you are shunned, looked over, forgotten, avoided, etc.). If you are deemed an outsider and you upset the societal balance, regardless of whether you are right or wrong in doing so, you will literally be deprived of your life.
Ryder Rogers

Even if there is a more than decent likelihood that you are not seriously asking, I have nothing to do, so here is my take on it:
It depends on WHEN (in the religion's timescale) you are asking that question.
The one thing all representations of Jesus throught the ages share is the fundamental symbolism of you being able to be here because he was there. In a sense, it was a major self-sacrifice to fend off mankind's corruption.
Now, if we take a closer look at each age:

true, God did love the world so much that he sent his only son to us and redeemed is with his death, I am not sure if it's been stated I the Bible, since I am only at Mathew ATM, but did Jesus know from the start he would be killed ? I mean, did God know too or rather anticipated what could have happened?
Ryan Price
1-) Medieval era:
Jesus was almost universally (alongside most religious representations of the Christian faith, really), at that period of time, represented in an almost... regal fashion. This is what Christ looked like when the Christian order and society's order were the same.
Xavier Brooks
pff my images are a shit. Just search for "medieval representation of Jesus in the cross"
Cameron Campbell
Well, I n the last supper Jesus Said "one of you will betray me". I believe Jesus did know what was going to happen. All I know is, with Jesus doing that. The world is saved. It's like that saying "Repent for the end is nigh". I believe people take it out of context. Like people here on /pol are talking about revelations of the end of the world, where I see it is not about that. You never know what life brings you, in an hour from now, the end can for you, or in a day a week etc. Just accept christ in your heart, repent and make better judgements throughout your life. No one is perfect, we will still make mistakes. That is what makes Jesus so great.
Aiden Barnes

2 -) Post-breakdown of Feudalism:
With the breakdown of feudal society (and it's social order) we see a shift in the representation of Christ: he is now depicted no longer as a ruler, but as a revolutionary, violently cast away by us and always depicted in brutal, intense suffering.
(Pic related: Grunewald's The Mocking of Christ, look it up, it's a masterpiece)
Xavier Taylor
Fair enough. But yeah, I know about him knowing it during the last supper(the priest tells it every Sunday after all), but the more interesting question, is, whether he or God himself knew, be it before he gathered his apostles, or perhaps even before he sent Jesus down to earth, or did he anticipate at all? We know God got angry when they crucified Jesus, so maybe he didn't anticipate them killing him ? It's never answered quite frankly
Gavin Nguyen
Of course God knew, he knew when he chose Abraham to preach the word and the covenant. God planned this since that time. Everyone gives that test crap saying "why would god order someone to kill his son?" well he ended up telling him not too. God just wanted to establish he was the boss and had a planned. Fast forward to Jesus, God himself was the one to give up his only son. I understand a lot of people say focus only on the New Testament, but the old one is good also to learn from. I am getting more knowledgable myself. Plan on getting rebaptised soon. Cause this is my choice.
Elijah Robinson
Ultimate sacrifice of the son to atone our sins in his blood
Like how the Israelites did animal sacrifices to atone thier sins, just taken to the extreme by sacrificing literally the most pure and perfect person (that's also God in the flesh)
Nolan Young
This guy gets it. I know were in different regions in the world, and different cultures. But one day, we will all be brothers in a new life.

God knows all things and even the things that aren't
God knew they would kill his son,but it's all part of the plan to save mankind.
Think of it like when the Babylonians(I think it was them) destroyed israel as punishment for disobeying God,just to later get punished by God themselves.

Numbers 21:8
The LORD said to Moses, "Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live."
It goes back to Genesis even with the story about the Trees and the seed. The snake has been killed. All sins were borne by God as an act of love towards mankind as long as we repent and worship the God of Love. To do good things to eachother, as being in the image of God that we are.

In what way does it relate to the black cube of saturn/moloch? Is Christ (or christ consciousness) busting open the cube (transcending materialism) or being bound to it (bound to materialism)?

The eternal (vertical) meeting the temporal (horizontal). Christ is this meeting.
The unfolded cube forms a cross. Christ frees us from sin and matter (Islamic and Judaic cube worship)
The cross is the new tree of life. Adam ate the fruit and we fell with him. Christ is the fruit of redemption on the tree of the cross.
The mystical winepress (pic related). The spilled blood is the wine of redemption and the fruit (Christ) is being trampled on by men so it can die and plant its seed (the conversion of all nations)
>And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.
Verbum Domini.

That you no longer have to sacrifice to seek blessings from the 'gods'. In pre-Constantinian Roman society it was demanded by the Imperial State to make certain sacrifices as Roman Citizen.
After Constantine 'the great' made Christianity state religion 250 years later he effectively ended needing to sacrifice anymore, because Jesus' death was the ultimate sacrifice for all of time
Fastforward 1700 years. European Christians most prospering civilization by far. Most impressive monuments being made, such as tallest structure, grandest Cathedrals, Industrial Invention.
Effectively stooped Civilization out of superstition and blood sacrifices to 'gods'. Which never fucking did anything.
