Drill sgts were all unhinged CIB infantry and the company was 80% 18Xs. Just getting smoked long and hard a few times a day during red phase. It was summer and we'd have pools of sweat you could splash underneath us in the barracks. Getting sent for sprints out of the barracks and up the street, then getting sent again as soon as the first guys were back a few times. Many remedial hill sprints every time we were at a range and very often at meals. Usually 20 min smoke sessions, sometimes 40, a couple of the platoons pushed 60 on occasion for bullying or ordering pizza. You'd just rotate between exercises. Our PL was a former service Navy seabee SGT and he'd smoke us too if the drill sgts didn't. Later on the smokings decreased in regularity though of course organized PT picked up. Drill sgts slapped, headbutted, kicked kids on occasion
