So Jow Forums I woke up to one of these in my driveway this morning. It's this ride share scooter thing. They're trying it out in my city now. They tried bikes a year ago and that was a huge failure, bikes were being stolen, destroyed, and thrown in the canals. Eventually business owners and home owners complained enough to the city that they banned the ride sharing bikes unless you could dock them at a specific location. No more of this just leave it anywhere you want bullshit. Well now they're doing the same thing with scooters and I find one literally in my driveway this morning.
I call up the customer service which was a bitch and a half to find to get them to come pick it up and they gave me run around. Saying it should sit for a certain period of time first or some bullshit. After yelling at them that I didn't want their socialist garbage on my property and to immediately collect it or I would remove it myself and I couldn't treat the damn thing so nicely. We'll see how long it takes them to get this picked up. I moved it in the sidewalk at least. What are your guys thoughts on this shitty socialistic idea? I hope it fucking fails.
Who fucking knows? It's retarded that they can just leave this shit anywhere.
Gavin Davis
What the fuck? Smash it
Jace Long
just throw it in the fucking trash...
Sebastian Mitchell
If that shit happened here I wouldn't say anything and strip it for parts. You could make something cool with the motor and battery.
Julian Perry
It's no good if it's left on your property but it's fine otherwise isn't it?
Lincoln Powell
No, they shouldn't be allowed to just leave them wherever. There are still some bikes available but you can only pick them up and drop them off at designated lockups like in most liberal cities. The bikes they just left everywhere was eventually stopped. But now there's these scooters. It's fucking retarded as shut honestly. If it's not gone in an hour or two it's going in my backyard and I'm doing something cool with it.
Jackson Lee
They let people get around cheaply. It takes up way less space than people parking their vehicles along public thoroughfares, so why do you complain about a tiny scooter and not those much larger and more dangerous vehicles if space is your problem?
Aaron White
>poltards >Triggered by a scooter Take it for a spin boomer
Jaxon Young
I have an m365. Go to work and back, 10 miles on it every day. It will go 15mph and i can store it under my desk. Look like a total fool riding it, but its the best way to travel.
Jace Carter
They have them all around the LA area, you use an app to rent the electric scooter and they charge you for every minute. It's alright if you are in a rush, but these fuckin things are EVERYWHERE.
maybe urban hunting? usually works better with a big screen TV
Aiden Myers
kekk
Hunter Gutierrez
Lime showed up here for 6 days and then got the fuck out
Scooters are stupid anyway.
Carson Harris
I wouldn't have a problem with it if it wasn't in my fucking driveway. I don't live near a busy road or anything so it's extra annoying that one made it's way into my neighborhood. I wouldn't have such a problem if you had to park them in designated spots, like cars, instead of leaving them on the sidewalk in front of people's homes or businesses.
Asher Murphy
presumably the cars aren’t on his lawn dumbfuck
William Walker
you whiney little bitch put it on the fucking sidewalk you know god damn well that if shit like this was around when WE were kids, you'd have used them every fucking day and loved it.
Wyatt Jenkins
There's even a whole instagram account dedicated to destroying them called birdgraveyard where people just wreck em and toss them off buildings or into the ocean.
They're fun to cruise around on. If you weren't such a fat loner sperglord you could find a buddy or a cute girl and cruise the city on a scooter.
Sadly you are fat and would break the scooter.
John Robinson
tbqh fambly, it's probably your wife's son's scooter
Gavin Nelson
>wahhhh I'm fat and lazy and salty over a scooter lmao get fucked
Owen Cox
It's not the fault of the scooter nor the rental company that some dipshit left it on your property. Do you think it's anyone's policy that they just be dumped wherever, even if that be on someone else's property? It's fine to be annoyed by something that's not right and that's annoying, but direct your annoyance at the proper targets dude.
Jonathan Phillips
...
Juan Scott
They are big in Kansas City. All over the place. You can use them to go bar hopping.
Matthew Allen
>find a buddy
Going nut to butt is pretty gay on a Harley or crotch rocket. Doing it on a scooter is advanced gay.
Matthew Morgan
Take the battery it's worth like 500 bucks if it's anygood
Charles Hall
I had my own scooter. I kept it in my garage. Not on my neighbors driveway. And I did move it to the sidewalk. The point is it shouldn't be left in front of my house.
Noah Reed
We have scooters, bikes, electric bikes all over my city.
Fucking blocking sidewalks, idiot tourists blocking traffic, high school kids driving around like maniacs, and homeless people breaking the locks and turning them into hobo bikes
They are fucking annoying
Luke Murphy
Have the scooter towed at the owners expense
Bentley Ramirez
rig it with a bomb
Grayson Morris
It's a socialist idea and it's garbage. I can't fault the idiots who left it there. They're idiots. They don't know better. I blame the company for enabling and allowing such retardation to occur.
Evan Harris

>socialist garbage KEK. It's not run by the government, it's run by companies looking to make profit. It's called capitalism, not socialism.
Evan Parker
They are better then the bikes in that people actually use them. That being said they leave then blocking the fucking side walks here in San diego.
Christopher Sanchez
If you put something on the curb, it's a clear signal they're giving it away. Someone with a big van went around and collected all of them. I don't think it's even illegal to take them.
Joseph Scott
>what happens when the battery is empty? they leave em. sometime later an employee comesby in a truck and picks em up. i see them everywhere.
Blake Brown
>OP has no clue what socialism means.
Cameron Davis
Are you so pathetic that you cant just remove it yourself? I swear city people are the weakest, most dependent children on Earth.
Aiden Lewis
How is the idea of not owning your own scooter but renting it from someone else not a socialist idea?
Henry Hall
I dont know about that. I'm pretty certain they get guberment moneys, ITS GREEN.
OP just throw the piece of shit in the street or throw it no shit in a dumpster.
Thomas Johnson
You can get paid to charge them. It pays pretty well too. ">Who knows"? Typical /Pol brainlet
Jayden Morgan
Why not just keep it? It was left on your property.
Carter Perez
If a private company wants someone to work for them they should pay the person who does the work
Charles Sanders
>Socialist >Capitalist transportation service Pick one you fucking moron
Benjamin Butler
The bike ones are the worst especially the electric ones cause they’re heavy. If you try and move the fucking things while they’re locked an alarm goes off saying the police will be called. Some fucker left one in the back of my church parking lot and it had the brakes constantly engaged while I pushed it to the sidewalk so it was hard to do and the dumb alarm kept going off.
Luke Powell
socialism: A political theory advocating state ownership of industry. capitalism: An economic system based on private ownership of capital.
These scooters are owned by private companies, friend. You can't be more unsocialist than that.
Jacob Rivera
>It's not the fault of the scooter nor the rental company that some dipshit left it on your property. Educating the customer on expected behavior of a new platform is absolutely the company's responsibility. This doesn't matter if it's a rideshare scooter, firearm or your mom's dildo with inflatable knot. Helping consumers safely use product starts with who makes that product. >t. former marketing professional, GotTFO >t. living among a sea of scooters >t. know my rights
Evan Adams
>I can't fault the idiots who left it there
>I won't hold the people responsible responsible Jesus.
Ryan Torres
No. Local governments hate these scooters, that's why they keep banning them.
>cruise the city on a scooter This is literally gayer then 2 men having sex.
Oliver Jones
This, you rent the bike.
Fucking murriclaps, I swear
Brayden Walker
If someone abandons someone else's property on your land, it would seem you can just take possession of it.
Or at least report it to the cops or something. It sounds like dumping.
Chase Stewart
How exactly am I supposed to find the retard who left it? It could've been literally anyone.
Connor Williams
You think they don't have a use policy? People do stupid shit with rental cars constantly - do you BLAME THE RENTAL COMPANY? No; they can only do so much. Do you want to BAN car rentals? No because that's fucking moronic.
Dominic Campbell
>omg when gov provides a service it is sossaleezm and that's BAD >pls come provide service
Ayden Morgan
>Get schematics on scooters >chop it up >remove GPS device >free scooter
Adrian Price
Bad things happen and a lot of the time you have to mark it off and leave it behind you BECAUSE you can't (and no one can) do shit about what's already done. A scooter on your property is annoying but you're bitching at the wrong person - it'd be like wanting rental cars banned because some idiot wrecked one on your lawn.
Parker Morales
>What are your guys thoughts You sound incredibly old
Isaac Barnes
If someone leaves one in my yard I am keepiing it.
John Johnson
Random rental cars aren't parked on my lawn. People, like you, think it's not that big of a deal because it's a scooter. That isn't the point. The point is dockless bikes/scooters are gay as fuck
Ethan Lopez
>No; they can only do so much Yes, to an extent. This is why some rental cars have governors in them. Managing your customer base is part of running this kind of business. Here's a transportation product that is silent, runs 18mph on any urban surface and is piloted by someone busy on their phone. Across sidewalks, roads, alleys, etc without a care in the world. At the end of the ride, the customer leaves it in a growing pile of rentascooters that blocks a public way. Yes, that's the company's problem as it's horrible publicity.
Lincoln Ramirez
>Random rental cars aren't parked on my lawn If one were you wouldn't be bitching about rental cars and rental car companies. You have a double standard that's not rational, based on the fact that rental cars are old and rental scooters are new.
Jason Price
its fucking stupid.. San Diego and Santa Monica are doing this shit and it is the most annoying thing ever. nothing like driving down the street looking at the faggot scooters littered everywhere. not to mention having to deal with the insufferable cunts that use them. riding your ass in the bike lane, passing on the right side.. etc etc. NO HELMETS. lmao fuck this shit.
Pretty sure I know which town you live in. (Townname)411 app for your phone and hit them up with every violation.
Matthew Jenkins
You can't manage your customers - at best you can choose them, and usually you're not even allowed to do that (by the government).
Owen Peterson
So you think renting a car is socialist? What about renting a home? All these millions of American renters are socialists? The reason you rent the scooter instead of owning it is so you don't have to carry your scooter around everywhere you go. Instead, just grab a scooter nearby and use it.
James Sanchez
Nice try, JIDF. FUCK OFF BACK TO JEW YORK.
Michael Russell
>You can't manage your customers You have no idea what you're writing about. Of course you can manage and behavior modify your customers. This is basic marketing.
Blake Hughes
>Of course you can manage and behavior modify your customers I go to snowboard. I rent a snowboard and am on the mountain for the whole day. Tell me how they "manage" my use of the snowboard.
Dominic Smith
Like three of these companies popped up in my city overnight. They are kind've annoying, but a good idea. Less strain on pub transpo/traffic network/environment. Everyone's complaining that riders never wear helmets like that's supposed to prevent accidents.
Brayden Moore
Imagine giving this much of a fuck about what other people do. Typical right wing sjw
Benjamin Thomas
Parking your shit on someone's private property is a direct violation of the NAP.
If it’s in your driveway throw it the fuck in the street. Period.
Ayden Jackson
The faggit commies that ride them have to agree to the TOS that says they’ll wear a helmet. Never seen even a single rider with a helmet.
Mason Garcia
I spend $350 for an electic skateboard, goes 23mph and I get 11 miles per charge
fuck share services and fuck socialism!
Ryan Reyes
Problem is that's either littering or impairing the flow of traffic in most places.
Colton Roberts
They're open lifts. There's no insurance policy. The market of people they deal with are turned off by dealing with that shit when they just want to board or ski for the day, and they just post when you're supposed to be off the mountain by.
The trails are marked and they tell you which slopes you're supposed to use, but that's not a control on anyone. If I'm on the mountain and go off trail, it's not their responsibility. Similarly, the scooter rentals have a policy about where scooters are and are not to be left. And - similarly - it is not the company's responsibility if people fail to follow their rules.
Blake Clark
>Buy GPS/Cell scrambler >Rent van >Take plates off >Pick up every scooter you see >Disassemble for parts >Profit >
Brody Jenkins
>not moving it to the drive of someone you hate
Gabriel Butler
Register as a tow company and charge the scooter company impound fees to get the scooters back
Christopher Collins
I wish they would get rid of those stupid "Lime Bikes" - they started putting them near bus stops and BART stations about a year ago, and now they are being left everywhere.
Daniel Gonzalez
you're going to give yourself a fucking heart getting this upset over a scooter. just move it. these shits are everywhere in my city and people use them all the time, they're not going anywhere so I'd get with the times if I were you.
Christian King
Then the city needs to be on it and fine the riders. I don't care the mechanism but want the current situation modified just like OP.
Daniel Powell
hi op. NYCfag here. it's not scooters, but e-bikes that are the problem here currently. originally, it was only Citibike what had these rental bikes but they all had docks.
here comes a new challenger
two companies, lime and jumpbike (uber) have started dumping these dockless monstrosities all over the place. here's the problem: you can activate them with EBT. yes you read that right, you can literally use food stamps to unlock and operate these bikes. so what do you think has happened already?
you guessed it. niggers. since niggers are pieces of shit and are completely territorial, all of the bikes have been hoarded and kept in the ghettos and projects. regular people who might actually need to use one of these bikes because they missed a bus or a train to get somewhere are completely shut out of using them. these niggers joyride on the bikes all day, cluttering up the road in packs like wild dogs, and are a general nuisance.
it's also no surprise that gangs are part of it, as the bloods prefer the red uber bikes. so anytime you see a swarm of jumpbikes, you can be almost certain it's a pack of bloods who are out using these bikes as a cheap drug trafficking vehicle alternative.
scooters have been banned here as far as i know. but all this dockless rideshare bike/scooter bullshit is a terrible idea and needs to stop.
You might have just figured it out. Not towing, necessarily, but incentivize people to move the scooters.
Logan Flores
i had a yz125 when I was a kid. fuck scooters.
Ethan Sullivan
that's been part of their plan. they deploy a fleet of these things without any city ordinace or permit to back them up, and they do so in the hopes that it takes the city far too long to come up with any kind of formal legislation to ban them. all these companies are legit flying under the radar and waiting for inevitable legislation and regulation.
