There is a good reason why we let mutants live, does no one here read anything? Mutants often carry small advantages in their genome, for example sickle cell anemia, cystic fibrosis, tay-sachs all the genes for these "bad mutations" are only bad if you get two copies of the genes and are actually good if you get one copy and get a specific disease like cholera, malaria, or tuberculosis which each of those diseased genes protect against
