Do you know why thieves are stealing transformer cooling oil? To sell it to roadside stands as cooking oil. The specialized transformer cooling oil is highly resistant to heat, so the roadside stands like it for it's ability to withstand high temperature. And it apparently doesn't taste half bad. Unfortunately, it also highly carcinogenic. If you eat something cooked in the transformer oil, you are almost guaranteed to get a particularly nasty strain of cancer. So, Africans are sabotaging their own power grid to steal oil for cooking that will result in a painful lingering death. And somehow this is the fault of colonialism.
