"Freedom" is kind of a subjective thing though. I'm not much of a fan of the freedom we have in the west. I'd much rather live in an authoritarian patriarchy.

Moscow is a good city (although I'm a bit biased here, since I live here). Its basically a business center of Russia where people come to make good money. Central Asians are a thing and they are plenty, but those guys are harmless and you can see them only on construction cites and sweeping the streets in the morning. The guys from Caucasus though are dangerous, I suggest you stay as far from them as possible. Although they are not very common, only in certain locations.

Now I really want to move to Russia.

Well, in most cases you aren't going to feel the authoritarian regime. There's like two occasions when you come face to face with it - you either do political stuff or you open a really great business and somebody decides to make it theirs (but it has to be something worth hundreds of millions). Also its quite obvious how corrupt the government is, so you can feel billions going into officials' pockets and that's really depressing to watch.

My brother has been living and working in Russia for 8 years, he runs a language school, he has no problem with visas, but every few months he has to leave Russia and reapply, he says getting citizenship is very hard for average people, if you're loaded not so hard.

I actually haven't visited any of the Siberian cities, just a couple of European ones. There's lots of small comfy ones that still have the Imperial architecture. They are great, but the poverty is very visible everywhere outside of the center. Then there is St. Petersburg that is the most cultured and beautiful city in Russia. If you are well-off and like country life you can settle in an elite township, but most people are snobs there and its quite boring.

Just come to Poland mate...the economy is booming, you can get well paid jobs just because you speak native Swedish, this is even whiter than Russia I think.

Dagestan isn't like Chechnya. Its a totally different place with all sorts of cultures, languages and ethnicities. They have their unique cuisines and unique ways of life. That's why they aren't like Chechens, they can be violent, but that's not the primal hatred that the latter have.

This reminds me of Los Angeles / Hollywood where I am now or NYC where my brother lives. Yet, the stark reality is never presented as such. Russian working in US here. I'm from Moscow, so I would recommend moving there of St. Petersburg. Other good options are Sochi and Rostov Na Donu if you're looking for a warmer climate. I come back to Moscow for summer every year and I generally find it more preferable to where I live in the US.
