It's not a bad city but I wouldn't want to live there. Rent is really high, and generally too busy, I prefer quieter cities. Lots of cool bars and restaurants and the like make it good to visit.

GTA is wayyy better than Toronto, the city is very livable if you have the money to afford the nicer neighborhoods or if you were grandfathered a house. Some neighborhoods have more than 50% of households with avg. income of more than $100,000 surrounded by lot's of parks, nature and over 80% white in many situations. Etobicoke center and Lakeshore are both more than 75% white according to the 2011 census (in 2018 it went down a bit only by a single digit percentile too lazy to check right now) the beaches even more so and funny enough it's actually the downtown core which is one of the whiter parts of the city. The white areas of Toronto are really beautiful still with a great sense of community and lower population density but this is all changing fast as they try to increase zoning for multi-storey residentials and the fact that many of these houses which were grandfathered have soaring property taxes but effectively most of the non-whites at the moment in these areas are priced out.

Toronto is hell.
Born and raised just outside the GTA, I've worked and lived in the city on several occasions.
It's smelly, overcrowded, and unfriendly. In the good neighbourhoods.
The bad neighbourhoods are downright scary, it's like a typical American city except fewer guns and way more rules.
It's impossible to buy alcohol after 9 on weekends.
All the clubs close at 2am, no questions asked.
All the food and rent is insanely expensive.
Homeless people are begging for money, food, and drugs all over the downtown.
Just go to Montreal instead, les francophones have outlasted us anglo-canadians.

Toronto is boring and physically too large to enjoy as a tourist. Its actually mostly suburbs with homes being turned into shops and shit. Its pretty ghetto for the most part. American cities are smaller more compact and overall better in my opinion. T. not a poor ignorant suburban fag who lives in moms basement.
