i live in the maritimes and people are very retarded, but a lot of people are fed up with liberals. Most areas are conservative, but we fell for the stop harper meme because muh gibs and cutting muh gobbermit funds.

Past elections in ontario, n.b, quebec for provincal show people are fed up with the reds and are willing to try something different

Scheer is milquetoast literally-who tier and I suspect Bernier won't be able to field candidates in enough ridings.

Justin Trudeau is a liar and a danger to the country, and Canada knows this. The outcome of the next election will be weird though, no one's really in a strong position to win right now. It really depends on how the parties campaign.

The NDP vote will collapse to 90s-levels. The Liberals will gain from that, but will lose votes on their right to the Conservatives. Whether the Liberals or Conservatives come out on top I have no idea.

Also the PPC will go nowhere, Bernier will be lucky if he wins his seat.

The one policy I'm really disappointed to see missing from Max's platform is electoral reform. In my opinion abandoning that promise was Trudeau's greatest crime.

Electoral reform is extremely hard to change unless you have a majority government and even then any changes you make will be used by the opposition as ammo claiming youre making it harder for fair election to occur

My take:

Andrew Scheer has no identity outside of being a walking, talking Justin Trudeau attack-ad.
Jagmeet Singh has no presence or charisma, practically doesn't exist.
Maxime Bernier has not won me over. I voted for him as the leader of the CPC, but I feel him leaving the CPC after not getting elected makes him seem like a sore loser (also makes Scheer look like a weak leader for not persuading him to stay). Also I am skeptical because it seems like Bernier appeals most to the 'hot-takes & dog-whistles' crowd more than anything.
Trudeau, while slightly dropping the ball in some areas (like electoral reform for example) hasn't fucked up enough to get people out in droves to vote him out, and as I mentioned above, none of the other candidates are that great.

Prior to Maxime forming his party I thought that the PCs had a chance to beat the Liberals. However now that Maxime's party exists, and will split the right-of-center vote, I don't think the PCs have much of a chance, and I am expecting the Liberals to win the election with minimal effort.

As of right now I dont see Mad Max as much of a threat for splitting the CPC vote. He has no presence. He's not talked about in the news, he's not holding big public events across Canada, ect. This might be in part of the media cartel agreeing to give him zero air time. But until he gets a bigger presence I don't see him being much of a threat.
I don't believe Sheer is a strong enough leader to really fill the Canadian voter with confidence. He doesn't take a hard stance on immigration, he doesn't take a hard stance on the economy, he doesn't say he will be able to negotiate with Trump and help strengthen the North American Union.
