Ask yourself then how that squares with an institution which has spend hundreds of years and millions if not billions in various currencies erecting some of the most spectacular and grandiose structures in the world for the purpose of glorifying God. If I were religious I'd probably not chose to be Catholic, I would assume from the start that God doesn't need my help to be glorious.
