You have to win the election so that your party can steal all the money from the other party... And that is the demographic war going on in the US.
Democrats have an incentive to destroy the country by flooding it with immigrants, because they know the immigrants will vote to take money from the people who are well off....
And as you can see, the idea of the government representing the american people goes out the window.

Unfortunately, a lot of information about the doings and statistics about the Soviet Union are estimated. When dealing with levels of devastation that occurred not only in soviet Russia, but under Maoist China, pol pot, etc, much of these statistics were suppressed, not recorded, or otherwise manipulated.

Regardless, this isn’t about numbers. This is about the principle of the thing. Because of the way socialism is structured, it neccessarily funnels all power at the top of the political party; jobs and factories are owned by the government, housing is owned by the government, what you are allowed to grow for crops or charge for services is mandated by the government.

The individual’s autonomy is reduced to either working for the benefit of all, or choosing to do nothing and not contribute. Not only this, but just because you have the right to a job under socialism doesn’t mean that it’s a good thing; given ore and a furnace, an unskilled laborer would likely ruin the metal’s refining, resulting in a loss of hours of work, of resources, etc.. but they may not have that choice to do something else because the state needs metalworkers, and that’s what they were given, sure they have a job, but it isn’t doing any good.

Ultimately it boils down to control; the state has absolute control over everything, the places of work, the houses that you reside in, the very food you eat. And they are held accountable to no one. They can cut off these “rights” to anyone they deem as being enemies of the state.

I don’t care about the numbers, like I stated above, the very principle of the thing reduces the citizen to a cog in a machine, the value of life is nothing more than potential work output. I’d rather succeed and fail on my own merits than rely on the state to attempt to care for not only my every need, but the need of every other individual in the country.
