Sounds like the 30's dustbowl when the loss of deep rooted plants allowed the soil to lost moisture and eventually be eroded. There has been success with planting trees to help keep the water in the ground through the roots in many parts of the world, if they managed to get large amount of them to grow together it might work, an acre at a time

The issue is that the trees won't grow without a good groundwater supply, and the soil isn't populated with enough flora to hold groundwater. Current successful iterations to restore groundwater involve making trenches and adding a porous substrate to create an artificial water table, let it flood with the desert sands when the floods arrive, and letting the foliage grow in.

Unfortunately there are many different species that would die out if you try to flood the Sahara or something. Also it wouldn't be sustainable, at least with todays technology.
The biggest problem isn't the dessert, it's the massive ammont of space needed to feed us. The world is massively overpopulated, we would benefit from a lower population and birth rate. Yes this includes whites. It's not a problem as long as you have real borders.

Does anybody realize how affected our forests are from disease that came from Asia? Mainly China. Off the top of my head, chestnut blight, Dutch elm disease, emerald boring ash beatle, beech bark disease, oak wilt. I live in a deep northern hardwood forest and in my lifetime I have witnessed all of these mentioned diseases destroy my environment. It’s disturbing to say the least.

I've been experimenting, and basic engineered dirt is enough to make something resembling a water table. plastic tarp with holes punched in it works well in a similar way that a potted plant has its own miniature water table for a short while, even long after being watered.

Scientifically speaking yes it is possible given the impressive advancement in gene editing technology and our understanding of DNA. Will it be successful right now? Probably not. If we wait 30-40 years then I think we'll see stable genetically modified creatures.

Couldn't you make a wave-powered sand rounding plant? Fill a water tight container with whatever the optimal amount of water and sand is and let it float somewhere with big, constant waves. The wave action agitates the water and sand in the container, and you just wait for it to finish. No energy input (aside from the naturally occuring waves) required.

Climate change isn’t even the problem, but the destruction of ocean ecosystems and subsequently food chains and also deforestation (mainly in s. America and Africa) and particulate matter in the atmosphere (mostly the result of globalized commerce and Diesel engines) are a huge fucking problem.
