And why in the world are there 4 (!!!) sequels planned???
December 18, 2020 for Avatar 2, December 17, 2021 for Avatar 3, December 20, 2024 for Avatar 4, and December 19, 2025 for Avatar 5. The films will be released in Dolby Vision.

>most successful movie
that's friday the 13th because everybody knows jason.
Military propaganda to satisfy the right
"Indigenous" blue space aliens to satisfy the left
= a movie with universal appeal
The military is the evil shit in the movie. And it’s overal BS.
never saw that movie actually
how is it?
Its Poccahontas in space with ayys that look really good. Seriously, the cgi is fucking amazing.
Dances with Smurfs.
It was only succesfull because of the 3D Cinema hype at the time. The movie in itself is absolut shit.
White man bad, colored man good.
Same old crap.
shut your wurst hole
Do you like Smurfs? Do you like White Guilt?
Incredible CGI and 3D, for the time. I don’t know how it’ll sell the buzz for this movie is entirely dead.
James Cameron simply knows how to release a movie in the right place at the right time. Titanic was his film too, and it was the most successful film ever until Avatar.
It's a fine movie, there's nothing wrong with it, and the CGI world they created in it is pure eye candy and an absolute pleasure to watch on the big screen (it's also one of the only films to utilize 3D well and make it work the extra couple bucks). There might be some left-leaning overtones but nothing too painfully blatant or in your face. It's no worse than, say, Disney's Pocahontas. In fact that film and avatar have a lot more in common than people would like to admit.
I don't know what he's smoking with all these sequels he wants to release though. It's been nearly a decade and the first sequel hasn't even been formally announced yet.
Not recognizing the Fern Gully remake.
Come on.
you wont like this movie if you have white guilt
BLUED.com
I don't even know where they could go with the story after the first sequel. Humans got BTFO at the end and I guess they could try and retake the moon and get BTFO again, but honestly what do you have after that?
I watched it because dicking sexy aliens seems cool.
just stop worrying about it. dont watch the movie
Nah, I'm gonna watch it.
passion of the christ is the most successful movie because everyone knows mel gibson
i unironically wish that race of people existed and I were one.
however, they do apporpraite nig culture to some extent (living in trees and always having their cock out) so yeah
but being 7 feet tall fucking hot alien chicks would be a nice feeling.
Just the usual shit they come up with. Rogue Na'vi, other Na'vi tribes, humans again, some guy who challenges Jake for leadership while something is going on with Ewa. Shit like that. It's so predictable.
Shut your own burger hole!
Visually quite appealing but pretty bland story wise. Your typical greenpeace nature = good, military and business men = evil flick.
>the cgi is fucking amazing
No it wasn't I don't understand this meme at all. CGI is over rated as fuck bring back rubber masks and squibs. C&C will always be better then Warcraft because live actors are superior to CGI shit.
You're right. Its going to be generic as fuck. I'll still watch it anyway. I think I heard something about how one of the sequels was going to be about Jakes kids or something.
It was a novelty movie. 5he CGI was hit and miss. Some of it was actually horrible, but it did enough to make a sufficiently detailed and visually appealing environment that impressed people. It wasn't actually that good and it racked up it's high score on novelty points and Cameron and company know it. They got too excited in the initial fanfare and signed a bunch of deals for sequals tied to theme parks and fast food promotions. Now they cant back out of these deals and have to make sequals no one, including Cameron, actually want.
Best visual effects of any movie of all time that I saw. However since you cant see it in a 3d theater anymore there is little point to see it.
Basically this and its formulate under a standard romeo jutliet theme. Follows R&Juliet story line basicallyt to a T.
I have no idea the movie was shit even back when it came out
>thought it was going to be an epic battle between catniggers and humans
>ended up watching some loser faggot sell everyone out
When everyone has heard the name of Christ the world can end. When everyone has had the opportunity
>Follows R&Juliet story line basicallyt to a T.
No it doesn't. In R&J, Tybalt kills Romeo's friend, causing Romeo to kill Tybalt in anger. There was nothing like that in this movie. They weren't concealing their love affair from their respective clans. Both sides knew they were dating.
An eye candy.
Gone With the Wind was the most successful film of all time, Star Wars was the second most. Avatar was something in the range of 14th or 15th.
You have to adjust for inflation when you deal with this stuff.
Content aside that movie was a technical pioneering effort you absolute fucking retard fuck.
Miles was fucking based
avatar 2: revenge of the humans
avatar 3: 3rd race of aliens conquer them both
avatar 4: humans and navi together against 3rd aliens
avatar 5: cancelled due to actual economic and ecological collapse and nuclear war in Trump's 3rd term
I hope the sequels are in high framerate
Ever see Ferngully? It was pretty much Ferngully.
When will Space Force get these badass mecha suits tho?
Dat blue girl somehow reminded me of Ivanka.
i want to fuck a na'vi
Good visuals, recycled shitty story. Not worth traffic and time.
>avatar 5: cancelled due to actual economic and ecological collapse and nuclear war in Trump's 3rd term
I think this is the sequel I am looking forward the most
Watch it just for the visuals. It's still ground breaking and being a native 3D film is much better than the shitty post conversions we get today.
Alot of gaysex just like Greek history
>how is it?
Its pretty good, its about a heroic colonel and his brave group of men are trying to protect a corporation that mines a mineral that humans on earth needs to survive. They are constantly being threatened by the savage and illiterate natives. They manage to hold them of for awhile but are eventually defeated when one of their own betrays them and side with the enemy just so he can get laid.
Pic related, its the protagonist.
>Humanity comes back to get BTFO three more times
Just my guess.
How is this Jow Forums related?
What if the movie was soft disclosure? Chinks on suicide watch.
>798 days
>mist influential and highest grossing film in the whole world
>gets 4 sequels to influence society and elections
>oh no, how is this politics related?
But any minor pimpel on Elon Musk’s face is Jow Forums related... but not this?
>Military propaganda to satisfy the right
That whole movie is anti military you brainlet
Tfw this whole speech would’ve made the movie a real dichotomy of civilisations and enabled the viewers to feel more than just “Blue people good - white people bad”
because cinematic effects and childishly simplistic plot
And to think a thread about Lauren Southern died for this....
Based avatar reminder poster. How did you ever leave /tv/?
I never like the swarthy-ness of the characters. I learned later half of them were niggers. Never watched the first nor will I watch any of the other ones. I don't like swarthy nigger movements. I consider them Sub Primate!
>that mines a mineral
Literally called "unobtainium"
The humans still have a huge technological advance and reasons to get back to Pandora. The first movie was a skirmish at best, especially compared to the true military tech back on earth.
The second film will be "Humanity strike back" but with a real army that time, and the blue space kitties getting BTFO. Very sad, much death. Then the third will be "Humanity and space kitties make peace after some more last stands".
It's boring and predictable. Basically Star Wars but with the humans being the empire.
It's 1 movie padded out to 4 parts to suck as much of your money as possible. That's why there are 4 sequels so close together.
it is pretty clear humans want to merge with tech or transfer to new bodies
and it will happen
we will also see immortality methods within our lifetime
If I remember correctly they aren't the military, but a privately funded group of mercs.
When I watched it I imagined them as ex-blackwater guys hired by Jews to mine diamoands in Africa.
high framerate looks so soulless
It's just Pocahontas with aliens you moron. Plus the movie didn't even do as good as The Hurt Locker
I've heard somewhere that they are unreachable fiction of how their weight is cannot be properly distributed on the legs and feet that these mechas are always shown to have. They will sink into any surface they are in.
Like, the heavier you weigh the wider and huger your feet should be otherwise it's a catastrophe waiting to happen.
This... except even blue cat people are more human than the later.
I imagined them as Americans fucking up the back garden of green party commies who chaimrd themselves to trees.
Because all men want to fuck the blue alien chick.
That's like, movie marketing 101.
They're not impossible, just impractical. Why would you want a mech when you can accomplish the same goal with a tank that costs less?
Based Ferngully poster.
not everyone has the taste of a mediterranean kike
Reminder that the AVatar cashgrabs 2,3,4,will help push the immigration narrative.
sceencap this
you can watch it in a vr headset
The CGI and effects were top fucking tier, but the story was average at best.
>not wanting to COLONIZE the alien planet
What a cuck.
this was also presented as one of the reasons
also something about batteries
I can't remember for sure, but probably it's from one of "the movie theorists" videos about Avatar or The Matrix or some such
damn, wish I could remember now
The story was Pocahontas. LITERALLY Pocahontas.
Look it up.
they were trying to fuck up the magical energy tree, so yes they were bad guys
that planet aint worth shit as long as we can't fucking breathe there
It’s every white guy saves (and bangs) natives while learning to feel guilty story. Pocahontas, Dances with Wolves, the Last Samurai etc. Except actually worse.
>December 17, 2021 for Avatar 3, December 20, 2024 for Avatar 4, and December 19, 2025 for Avatar 5.
Okay, now that's just a bunch of bullshit, surely it can't be re-
>it's real
What the actual fuck
But it's got lots of weapons for Americans to drool over.
In dances with wolves he actually bangs a white chick that has been captured, he also turns down solicitations from some indian tranny.
user you know (((why)))
how on earth can they get a sequel out of this? it ended pretty nicely.
literally the only course of action is Avatar 2: Nuked from orbit
stop being dumb OP
the 3D is nice, the movie isn't too stunning. the only thing that surprised me is that you didn't really notice the CG humans they slipped in. the technical aspect is the only thing i'd go for, but the overall package is meh
>inflation matters
I doesn’t. Go for the true numbers.
what matters then? what is most successfull? if you go by fame, it's star wars all the way, because it's the most iconic even if the new ones are mediocre to shit. if you go by money, inflation matters. or do you go by how many tickets were sold? does population rise matter also then?
There has been 4 sequels planned for a decade. This movie was huge because James Cameron is a master publicist who rode the wave of 3D movies when that was a huge obsession. Whoopty shit
its been like 10 goddamn years and now they are going to shit out 4 in rapid succession? wtf
>Anti military
Like I care about the politics when I get to see giant walking mechs fight blue native americans.
didn't a bunch of fuckers commit suicide after this movie came out and they couldn't 'live there'?
if there were, i'd say it was braindead vegans
I reckon the suits in Avatar are just about small enough to work provided you use the right materials. IIRC in-universe they're essentially military-grade future forklift trucks that the mercs strapped guns onto, so they're probably not armoured in any real sense of the word. Could probably get away with making everything that isn't the load-bearing skeleton out of aluminium on something like that.
where can I read the lore? is anyone making videos?
Remember Small Soldiers?
I had the (surprisingly fun) video game tie-in back in the day, and it had an in-game codex with immense amounts of loredumping on basically everything in the setting. That's where I remember it from, but I know there's a wiki dedicated to Avatar as well. That's probably some pretty dry reading though, but I'm sure somebody must have made some lore videos in the decade since the film came out.
Legs are just a lot more complicated than having treads, and the last thing you want in combat is complications. If mecha ever did get made I assume they'd resemble guntanks the most.
