The Patriarch of Moscow is the good guy here. The Ecumenical Faggot recognized the Ukrainian church despite it having always been beneath the Moscow church. Moscow is simply defending itself against Constantinople aggression.

From what I've read about this it's mostly because Constantinople is trying to basically do what the first pope did and say he is the head of the church and can do what he wants.
