Their Islam used to mostly be "Traditional Islam" which incorporates alot of cultural elements from their Hindu/Buddhist culture before Islam. They're also legitimately known to be rather moderate in the past with many women not wearing Hijab and interreligious marriages.

Cambodia is a tragic dirt-poor shithole today, as far as I could see. The old glory days of the Khmer empire are long gone, you might as well bring back the pharaohs. Cambodia today is a hellish wasteland and its main export is prostitutes. That country has one of the most brutal histories in the world, and even without Pol Pot's auto-genocide, they'd still get jerked around by Vietnam or China.

Vietnam is the elite country of Southeast Asia, what the Prussians were to Central Europe and the Japanese were to East Asia. More disciplined than their neighbors, more hard-working, more militarily successful. Vietnam recovered very fast from the war and went back to its old role as the regional power.

Thailand and Vietnam are the two successful nations in Southeast Asia, the other two are satellite states to them. If you count Indonesia, they're the greatest nationalist success.

Nice countries overall, people are generally quite respectful and pleasant. Tragic that the south was Islamized it's really degraded their culture in my opinion (compare Indonesian culture to Bali).

TOP LEL, they have been constantly mogged by Indonesia in terms of military for the past century and is also has the weakest economy of the top 5. There's still ruins after the war, and minefields are abundant as well in certain areas.

well, there's a huge deviation in Southeast Asia. Sometimes the average on samples are scored at over 100, other times they are scored at 70 levels. There are evidence of malnourishment affecting intelligence there aswell. There were one sample where mothers of children in agricultural areas in Philippines had average IQ of 77, while the children scored 92. The children grew up in better conditions than their parents which probably attributes their better cognitive developments

As for Negritos and Hmongs, there's no data on the former that I know of but from what I have gathered, Hmongs aren't very intelligent apparently.
